Renegade Chief Awarded Australias Best Greyhound Race For September 2012

's for September 2012 has been awarded to brilliant Victorian chaser Renegade Chief. His enormous performance to win at only his eighth start considering what happened to him in the run flags a very solid future for the sprinter.

In an extraordinary effort Renegade Chief was slow to begin. He then collided with Blake The Snake on the first turn. Pushed back to sixth at one stage he started to make up ground down the back straight. Quickly weaving his way through the field he reached the lead and raced away to win as he liked by an amazing five and a half lengths in 29.67.

It was his seventh city win after commencing his career with two wins at in July. A week later he brought up another win at Park this time in the best of the night 29.32.

Renegade Chief has since won a heat and the final of the Warragul St. Ledger.

Renegade Chief is a Black Dog whelped July 2010 by Bombastic Shiraz from Teeze (Spiral Nikita x Rumble Spirit) he is raced by Tony Lockett and trained by Kelvyn Greenough at Pearcedale in Victoria. He has raced 11 times for 10 wins and one second his overall stake earnings stand at $30,050.

As usual there were some outstanding runs recorded in September but given Renegade Chief was only having his eighth start to do what he did in the run was extraordinary for a young dog. It gave him the nod for the monthly award.

AGRA congratulates Renegade Chief's after being judged the AGRA Run of the Month for September 2012. He joints Heston Bale who has won two, June winner , who has also won it twice this year plus the February winner , April winner and July winner Exclusive One as the AGRA runs of the month for 2012.
