With a strong crowd gathered trackside for a solid 11 race card at Canberra Sunday, it was Denice Warren who stole the show with three winners for the evening.
Denice’s day started early, with first starter Mythological taking out the Ranger Geale Maiden from Semenya and Berella Bridget in 31.11.
The Mummel trainer securing the running double, with Berella Shilo scoring a sizzling 25.16 win over Lang’s Creek and Mild Violence in race four.
Her third win coming in the ninth event when Berella Laura speared the lids leading from start to finish in 17.95, one and three quarter lengths clear of I’m The Cure and pre race favourite Meatlovers.
Three heats of the Canberra Mower Services Charity Cup headlined the program with some great racing the result.
Heat one saw Izmir’s Warrior record the fastest of the heat wins in 25.56, raking the lead down the back to hold on from Cawbourne Tuf and Midnight Theory.
Miss Peru for Neil Staines took the step up to the 440metres for the event after a successful number of starts over the 310 in recent weeks.
While the Laurie Banner x Miss Venezuela black bitch didn’t exhibit the exceptional early toe that was expected she did put in a solid effort to beat Intellectual who has come back from the 530metre trips for this series and Artistic Osti.
The final heat went the way of Fast Nick for Graeme Hull, who stepped well posting the best first split of the heats, 8.12, and lead all the way over Arctic Jet and Miss Jagz.
With the all important box draw to be completed Tuesday finalists will line up to compete for $2,000 for their own pocket, but also the same for their associated Charity.

Supporting the Canberra Mower Services Charity Cup Heats, were heats for 0-3win greyhounds over the 600metre journey.
The pink box prevailing in both heats with wins to Cawbourne Jake and Pack and Gun for Andy Lord.
Feature final of the evening was the Wilson Watt Papandrea 310m Maiden, which saw Ray Maitland take honors with Meat Butch, who flew early clocking 7.61 to the first mark, shooting three and half lengths clear over Saroma’s Idle another three quarters of a length back to ever consistent place getter Aranda, 17.92 the overall time recorded.
The final two events on the card went the way Terry Kennedy trained and Mark Scholes owned, Burgay, who made the most of the one alley to record a 17.97 win.
While the final event proved lucky for Neil Staines who secured a double for the evening when Galba Magic made it two wins from two starts on the Canberra track, a large seven and half length win over Elite Highway and Unique Unit.
All continues this Sunday at Canberra, with the final of the Canberra Mower Services Charity Cup, which promises to be a spectacular race.
