Bling Ading Wins Coursing’s Sylvester Doyle Puppy Championship

Last Sunday was the final day of the 2013 TGS Electronics meeting at , and I think all who attended would agree it was a great day of coursing, even after the heavens decided to open about half way through the finals.

Seven puppies returned to contest the Quarter finals first up and we saw some fantastic coursing by these youngsters. At the lunch break we were down to four, Olliemax the only dog left in this field I might add, Bling Ading, Gypsy Bling and My Clementine.

These girls were not giving this up without a fight! Olliemax and Gypsy Bling were the next to go out being defeated in their respective Semi Finals leaving Bling Ading for and My Clementine for , the two bitches to take on the final. As I mentioned earlier the heavens had opened up but both of the girls were all rearing to go. Out of slips there wasn't a lot between them both coursed beautifully but at the line Bling Ading was too good today, the red flag came out and she got the money?

Next event on the card was the Ray Boundy Memorial, in a fantastically contested final last year's winner Zambora Blueboy got the money for trainer Graham Whitford and over Blonde Caviar a newcomer to this year's coursing scene, trained up Stawell way by Peter Franklin.

The Amstel Golf Club Gippsland Cup was won by Spin the Top trained in Tyabb by Rob Ferris. Rob couldn't believe his luck and was over the mood with the win. After all this was his and the dogs first time to a coursing event. He was too good today for another newcomer to coursing Merciless trained by Jane Stephens from Drouin West.

Carry the Spirit took out the first of our supporting stakes, the Bluestream Photography All Aged Stake proving too good today for Where's Tom.

We then moved on to our Maiden events. Maiden Dog No. 1 sponsored by Kerr Brothers Earthmoving was won by a well know circle racer Early Return who got some great times on the clock today. He got the chockies over another of Peter Franklin's team members Bane, just a tip but I would be watching the circle tracks for both of these dogs at their next start because if today's performance is anything to go by I would be thinking they will be strong full of running and rearing to go next start.

The Silver Eagle Dog Maiden No. 2 was next with old timer War Lover for Geraldine DeBono, strutting his stuff across the line in front of the Mark Giddings trained Super Pursuit. Who said the oldies can't ? War Lover was the oldest of our competitors today having turned 5 years of age in April this year. Well done War Lover.

Our Belco Roofing Mixed Maiden was won today by Get Up Sally for a very proud but nervous owner/handler Lisa Marshall. Sally got the winner's cheque today over Rick Boehm's Our Debree, a great effort by both greyhounds all day.

Jane and Ross Stephens took out both Maiden Bitch events with Ravishing Ruth proving too good for 's Infringement in the Larmax Produce Maiden Bitch No. 1 then Flirtatious got the money over Mystique Ayers again trained by Peter Franklin.

Peter got the winners prize in the Dishlicker Dog coats Derby Trial though, after 's Oyster was first pass the post today proving too good for Bizarre Bling. The final event on the card was the TGS Sand and Soil Mixed Puppy and again we saw the girl's reign supreme over the boys with Knees Up trained by Norm Rilen winning her final in superb style over Toni Jones' Fred Best.

Again all of the puppies were fantastic today and I really think we will have some great coursing displays at this year's Oaks and Derby, which is coming up on the 3rd and 4th August, 2013 back here at Lang Lang.

Congratulations and a big thankyou from everyone at the NCA to all concerned from the Lang Lang Coursing Club who once again put on a brilliant two days of coursing.

Next up is the Trophy meeting at Longwood on the 21st July, 2013.
