Ego Claims 2008 Waterloo Cup At Lang Lang
A most successful meeting was conducted at Lang Lang, congratulations to all concerned. Weatherwise it was great on Saturday but the heavens opened on Sunday and we had rain, patches of sunlight, hail, lightning and thunder. Despite all this, coursing continued with some great courses conducted. Thankyou to the track staff, under trying conditions, coursing proceeded with few interruptions.
The final eight set to fight it out for the $10,000 first prize were decided over three courses on the Saturday and come Sunday morning the remaining runners looked like this :

Ego proved too strong for Sonny's Pride and Hunted Down advanced after accounting for Bomber Lucas.

Ego prevailed in the final for Victorian trainers Nick and Larrissa Darragh and owner S Cameron.
Lionel Kraemer finished the season in fine style with a winner and two runners up, enhancing his equal first in the 2008 Coursing Owner of the Year Awards.
The Fothergill Family from Numurkah also have had a great season with Brian Fothergill equal leader with Lionel Kraemer.
The coursing season concluded with Geoff Villinger having 2 winners and a runner up.
Heather & Geoff have worked tirelessly for the N.C.A. during the season and it was great to see them having some success.
Syonic King has taken out the 2008 Coursing Greyhound of the Year with 31 points defeating Billabong Spur on 25 points.
Kahlia won the Coursing Bitch of the Year with 20 points defeating Iuki's Lady on 16 points.
Colin Dalton has once again been the most successful Coursing Trainer of the Year by taking the 2008 Award with 18.5 points from Lionel Kraemer on 18 points.
