2016 Group 2 Bulli Cyril Rowe Cup – free tips & best bookie odds

THE action heads to on Friday night for the Group 2 Cyril Rowe Cup (472m), which features some of the hottest speedsters in NSW.

Ritza Lenny currently holds favouritism at $3.20 with Bet365 following his slick 26.15 heat win off box three. The son of Barcia Bale and Lagoon Lowanna is the youngest and least experienced runner in the race, having faced the starter on just eight occasions from which he has managed five wins and two minor placings.

Trained by Mark Gatt, Ritza Lenny has won three from four over the track and trip, with a scorching 26.02 personal best. The main query on Friday night will be the wide draw, with the 36kg powerhouse yet to register a success outside of box three.

The classy Black Bear Lee is on the second line of betting at $4.50, with the regally-bred son of and Paua Of Love registering a commanding 26.21 qualifying win last weekend. The black speedster appears well drawn on Friday night and will be aiming for his 16th career victory at start 34.

Barking Bad took punters by surprise in his heat last week, shanghaiing out of the traps to score at 20-1 odds. The Michael Eberand-trained youngster moves to box one for this week's $40,000 feature and looks perfectly poised to punch up along the fence and storm into the calculations. You won't be able to get a big price about Barking Bad this week, with Crownbet pricing him at $6 to take out the race.

The ‘Nangar' brothers must be respected in this event, with Nangar Flash set to exit box two and Nangar Flame from the four. Both have similar records and have run some cracking races throughout their careers, with ‘Flame' owning a sizzling 26.09 at Bulli which puts him right in contention for this race. Both boys can be tardy early and will need a bit of luck which is reflected in their prices at $9 (Nangar Flash) and $6.50 (Nangar Flame) respectively.

The Group 2 Cyril Rowe Cup is race eight on the card at Bulli this Friday and is set to jump at 9:38pm AEDT.

“Form has peaked at exactly the right time having won at his past four starts. Last week he exploded from box seven and gave nothing else a chance when scoring in a slick 26.26, if he can step like that again this week he should be able to punch up along the fence and be somewhere near the lead. Bred to be as strong as a bull and I think he will improve off his heat last week with the right run.”
