Woodnear had no luck in a heat of the Adelaide Cup last week and he should find this race more to his liking, he is normally a very safe beginner and he should be able to lead from go to whoa. Nebula has a great record here and if she can get a clear run early she should feature, the only concern with her is that she takes a few strides to get going and there is quite a bit of speed drawn around her. Kalden Balerion is well drawn out wide and he can run time on the bunny, whilst Breaker Kahn comes here with strong NSW form.

Sunday Shoes has the good draw and she looks poised to return to the winners list, four starts ago she posted a sizzling 29.98 win here and a similar effort tonight would see her win again. Alderley Reform is absolutely flying having won five of his past six here, the concern with him tonight is that there is a lot of speed drawn underneath and he may get posted wide for most of the trip. Boonoona Boy is the run on dog in the event, he is likely to get too far back early to win but he is a great dog to anchor for third and fourth in your exotic bets.

Very tough race but I think the well drawn Farmeroo can get the job done. With a fast beginner and wide runner drawn on his outside, he should get a fairly clear passage into the first turn and he should assume control as they head for the back straight. Senni Tony’s recent form is much better than it suggests and he is capable of running a monster race at nice odds. Allen Illem and Shady Deal are both very strong types and if they can get through the first turn unscathed they should both be right in the mix. Dee Dee Corsair has had four runs from a spell and he should be at peak fitness, if he goes around at silly odds he may be worth a saver bet.

Psychotic Gold has won ten of 17 over this journey and she looks poised to win again. She beats fields of similar depth each week and she should be able to get a nice sit in the early stages and then make a strong move mid race. Token McLaren is the clear and obvious danger, he is a freakish talent who also boasts a brilliant record here of ten wins from 15 attempts. If he had drawn closer to the rail he would have been my top pick but there are a few wide runners drawn underneath him tonight and he may get posted wide for most of the journey.

Sidney’s Shadow scored a slick 29.86 win here three runs back and with two slow beginners drawn underneath she should be able to get a cheap lead tonight. She is a very fast chaser when on the bunny and if she holds the lead I can’t see anything being able to run her down. Kalden Gambino has a terrific record here and he should be able to follow Sidney’s Shadow across in the early stages. Emerley Senorita is in career best form and her effort behind Cosmic Wise last week was very impressive. Dakota Premier hasn’t had much luck since resuming from a spell but from his favourable wide draw he may just get a few breaks in running.

Buxton Miss is much better than her recent form suggests and she appears to be great value in this event. She has more than enough speed to lead and she will prove very hard to reel in. Lolly Bale is another who has been out of form but she did show good signs in her strong heat placing. Madam Crash turned in a big performance to win her heat in 30.57 and if she avoids early trouble she should be right in the mix. She’s Elusive was never headed in her heat and if she can hold the lead from the red she will prove hard to reel in.

Premier Event has been missing the kick from inside draws of late and therefore he has been getting no room at all to muster speed, with a wide runner drawn on his outside tonight he should get enough room to balance up and he should turn in a much improved performance tonight. Big Dingo will be well fancied and he has a terrific record here, he can bomb the start at times but from the red alley he has a little more margin for error. Big Zap returned to the winners list with a strong 35.23 win here over 600m and he should be thereabouts again, whilst Flying Bale does his best racing from wide draws and he could run a big race at nice odds.

In the main event on the card I think the middle pins hold the key to the race, both Mepunga Armagh and Cosmic Wise appear to have the speed to lead the event and both runners have proven to be very hard to run down when on the bunny. I’ve given the edge to Mepunga Armagh, two starts ago he posted a blistering 29.34 Sandown Park win and last week he reeled off a sizzling 4.41 to the first marker here. Cosmic Wise has won three on end and although she is better on the lure, she is more than capable when settling just off the speed. Allen Deed’s heat effort was ridiculous, he should have won by at least five lengths and at present he is probably the fastest chaser in the land. He is better suited to a wider draw but he is flying at the minute and if he gets a clear run early his opposition won’t know what hit them. Oakvale Destiny has the good draw and she is all class, she is under the odds but she does have a lot of things in her favour. They are the only four winning chances for mine and I would be having something on the middle two at the value.

Velocity Daff has been racing well without winning of late and at the nice odds tonight she could salute. Cool Guinness should hold the lead but he appeared to tire in the home straight last week, if Velocity Daff can get a nice sit behind Cool Guinness in the early stages she may just prove too strong in the run home. Sneaky Little Me smashed a handy line-up here two runs back when scoring in 30.04 and if she gets away cleanly she will be right in the mix. Galaxy Snow showed a return to form when placed here last time and he is a great dog to anchor for third and fourth in your exotics.

Genghis Kahn has won seven of eight over this journey and he is suited by the smaller field. He should get a relatively clear run early and he should assume control as they pass the post the first time. He’s A Villian is flying at present and he should fill the quinella spot if he can reproduce the effort which saw him win here in 35.02. Bogie Classic has turned in two super efforts at Gawler of late and she finds herself in winnable race tonight. She is beginning a lot better at present and if she finds the early lead she should win comfortably. Cash In Looper has had two months off but prior to his break he was airborne. Being first up from a short spell he made need a run but if he is near peak fitness he should be right in the mix. We have to wait until the last race but Young Gun Mcbain appears to be the best of the night. He has been runner up in his last six starts and although he keeps getting run down he appears to be getting stronger with every run. He should get a fairly cheap lead tonight and there isn’t much depth in this event so he should win with ease. Long Gully Allgo is racing well and he appears the danger based on his strong 31.03 Gawler win two runs back. Fiesty Fairy will settle on the speed and she showed her strength with a handy 30.37 win here last time.
