Albion Park greyhound tips & betting preview April 9 2015

RACEGOERS can expect a terrific night of chasing action at Albion Park tonight, with the 10-race card featuring four heats of the Group 2 Bogie Leigh Futurity over 520-metres.

Open to female greyhounds, the series has attracted some budding stars of the fairer sex, with the first two from each qualifier moving through to next Thursday’s $40,000-to-the-winner final.

In addition to Futurity heats, tonight’s Albion Park meeting will also see the racetrack return of boom pup Pop The Cork which is undefeated in two starts. He will exit box five in the first race for new trainer Peter Ruetschi.

Lets get into our preview for tonight’s meeting where we can hopefully find you plenty of winners to help fill your betting accounts.

Pop The Cork is an exciting talent who has scored two devastating Ipswich wins in his brief career to date. Those two wins were back in February and since then he has trialled here three times and has reeled off explosive sectionals in each. He appears to be fully wound up based on those trial times and so he should be getting the cash, he will be very short odds so it may be best to just anchor him upfront in your exotics.

Macnivek showed improvement after a luckless debut effort to score at Ipswich in 30.96 and he appeared to be most comfortable when out wide. The track was slow on that occasion so I expect him to be able to go a lot quicker on the clock.

Don’t Double Up continues to get better and stronger with every run and he caught the eye last time with a slick 30.14 win here. I dont think he can lead tonight so place claims may be best.

Smashniak Gold and In The Picture round out the place hopes, both are in good form and can sneak into the minor money.

Renouf’s Magic is drawn inside out but he is a super talent and he appears to have a fair bit on his rivals. Last time out he came from off the speed to score here in 30.02 and with an even getaway tonight he should be able to settle a lot closer early. There isn’t a lot of speed in this event so if he can balance up in the first four he will prove way too strong.

Blue Scorpion is racing in consistent style and he appears to be getting much stronger. Last time out he showed fantastic mid-race speed before being run down late when placed in good time. If he can reproduce a similar effort tonight he will make the red work hard for victory.

Tiny Turbo is hit or miss early but he is drawn to get the run of the race and he will run a nice race at big odds. He can make mistakes in his races but this is one of the weakest events he has contested for a while.

Reginald Benz is a promising type and with some luck early he can feature, he was a good winner from the red draw here two runs back and he just needs some room in the first 50-metres to feature.

Super Velo has been a little disappointing of late but this is clearly the weakest event he has contested for a while and I can see him just about leading throughout. His box manners aren’t great but he does muster speed very quickly and he is surrounded by slow beginners, so he should be afforded all the breaks early on.

Lotus Blossom is blessed with sizzling early speed and she has scored two breathtaking Ipswich wins in recent weeks. She has missed the kick in her two subsequent runs but I’m expecting her to make amends in this event.

Skuzi races best at Ipswich but he is well graded in this event and he is ideally drawn out wide, if he can step cleanly he should put himself into contention early and he will run a bottler.

Femme Jolie and Big Dac are the only other chances, I dont think either of them can win but they should be around the placings.

Tough race but if Blessed Rumble can step away cleanly she should have sufficient speed to cross and she will prove hard to run down on the lure. She has won three of her past four here in impressive style and her latest victory was in a zippy 30.01. I think her effort when narrowly beaten last time was probably her most impressive effort in recent as weeks as she managed to plug on well after not being able to lead.

Cyndie’s Magic is very hit or miss early but she should be able to follow Blessed Rumble across in the early stages. She is yet to win here in four tries but she has scored some blistering Ipswich wins and she is armed with explosive early and mid-race speed.

Stella Nights is the class factor and with a clear run she is likely to score but from the awkward draw she is going to need a lot of things to go her way early.

Sivamet has early speed and she could run a place at odds, I dont think she is strong enough to win but she should give a good sight.

Full Of Attitude has been flying over the shorter distances of late and she should give a great sight tonight. She is clearly a doubt to run the journey but from the good draw she should be able to get across early and break away from them mid-race. She is a lot stronger these days and she should be able to get down to the 30.10 mark or a tad quicker and that would be enough to score.

Over Here should sit just behind the pink for most of the trip and she too should give a great sight. She has won three of six here and she has been placed in the other three attempts.

Ultra Blue is no superstar but she does have some talent and she will hit the line solidly. From the middle pin she should settle mid-pack and I’m expecting her to run home solidly. She could be great value for the place with online bookmaker William Hill.

Waikarie Magic is a smart chaser when on song and she recently raced well in the Ipswich Auction Series. The draw shouldn’t pose too many problems and she does tend to race better here than at Ipswich.

This heat is probably the most open heat and I’ve decided to go with the up and coming Crazy Sexy. She is a member of the powerful Tony Brett kennel and after some handy efforts she finally put it altogether with a slick 30.10 win here last week. On that occasion she posted extremely fast sectionals and she also looked quite strong in the run to the line. She can probably go a little faster tonight if she finds the lure early.

Kingsbrae Lavina can be very hard to follow but she is very good on her night and she has broken the 30 second barrier here previously. I’m expecting her to come across with the seven early and she should take a nice sit as they head into the back straight. She is quite strong so if she isn’t far away off the back she should make the seven work hard for victory.

Minnesota Nice is a gifted chaser and with a clear run she would be winning, however she does not like to be crowded in her races and she may get shuffled too far back early.

Dynamite Speed rounds out the chances, she has been flying at Ipswich and if she handles the track she will run a big race.

8BLUE STATUESQUE817230.16Kathryn Friend

Blue Statuesque is well placed in the wide draw and she should be able to burn across to the early lead with a clean getaway. She has won three of 13 here overall with a further six placings and she has competed well at this level in her career to date. This is probably the weakest heat and she should be afforded all the breaks.

Kingsbrae Nelly has the good draw and with an even getaway she should be in the mix for a long way. She has won three of six here overall, but I’m a little concerned that she has been getting very tired in her races of late.

Marlisa is better than her recent form reads and she should be in the firing line early, she does her best racing when on lure but, because she probably can’t lead tonight, I think place claims appear best for her.

Magic Maiden is the most talented chaser in the event and with a clear passage from the middle pin she probably wins, however she can be risky early and she will need a lot of things to go right at the first bend.

Iva Vision has been a bit of a money muncher in recent weeks but he should return to the winner’s list tonight. He has slow beginners drawn on either side so with a clean getaway he should be able to muster speed and drive through into a prominent spot. He has a devastating 29.62 PB here and with a clear run he should be able to get somewhere near that again tonight. I have made Iva Vision my best bet of the meeting with William Hill.

Rose Of Galo probably can’t win but she has high early speed and she will give a great sight for most of the trip, I’m expecting her to get reeled-in but she should be able to hold on for a place.

Bill’s Fantasy has a top record here and he should be in the mix for a long way, from the pink draw he should get a clear passage early and he has turned in some great efforts here in recent weeks.

Hougenie and Grand Roman are both good chances but both are poorly drawn and they are going to need a lot of luck in the first 50 or 60 metres.

Opus Forte is the real deal and he is having a look at the track to get ready for next week’s Derby heats. He has won two of his past three at Wentworth Park and one of those victories was in an eye popping 29.41. From the wide draw he should get a clear run in the first 50-metres and that should allow him to balance up and hit the first turn right in the mix. He should be able to handle the track and he looks a safe bet in this.

Up The Attitude has speed to burn and he has won two of his past three here and on both occasions he has reeled off sizzling sectionals. He should be able to lead for a long way tonight and a top three finish is on the cards.

Elusive Desire has a big engine and with an ounce of luck early he shouldn’t be too far away at the end, he broke the 30 second barrier here last week and he appears to be getting better with every run.

Bago Kysam is dropping back to a more suitable journey and he should give a nice sight, this is a step up in class for him but he can’t be left out of your exotic bets.

Open race to finish but Bull Titan has come up with the good draw and he should run a bold race. The two generally likes to move up the track so that should allow him to push through early and he should settle near the lead. He is quite strong in the run home and he should be afforded all the breaks in the run.

Melody Serenade has returned to her best form in recent weeks and she should lead them a merry dance. She has broken 5.60 to the first marker in her two recent wins here and a repeat of that will see her lead for a long way.

Line Up Buoys has been flying over the short course here of late and he should be in the mix for a long way, the wide draw will suit and with slow beginners on either side he should get every chance.

Pictures Pearce is showing plenty of promise and with a clear run he should be in the mix. He is going to be well supported but I think he will be under the odds tonight.
