Race 1 – 520M Novice – 6.44pm

Tough first race as usual but I’m going with Velocity Mist, who has started even money at both her 520M starts. She has burnt up the track over 395m here at Albion and should fire out and lead for a long long way tonight. Sheza Good Girl looks second pick and should lob handy early. Giggling Panther is a run on type and should be getting home hard. Bella Narcissus looks the best of the rest.

Top Four Selections: 2 – 3 – 4 – 1
Suggested Bet:

Trifecta: 2/1,3,4/1,3,4,6

Race 2 – 520M 5th Grade – 7.05pm

Just Like Tina has shown she’s better than average and she should notch up her first class one meeting win. She’s speedy early and solid to the line, she should win. More Aries could be a big smokey, he needs to jump and get forward early, but should he land forward he’s a chance. Out West and Blue Den look the best of the rest. Kira Kawati could be a run on chance with luck.

Top Four Selections: 5 – 3 – 1 – 2
Suggested Bet:

Trifecta: 5/1,2,3/1,2,3,7,8

Race 3 – 520M 5th Grade – 7.22pm

King Elliot has been knocking on the door to win and won’t get a better chance than this race tonight. He’s been very erratic at his last couple and really raced poorly. He should hum out tonight and pose a huge threat should he lead. Gunspeed has talent and looks right up to threatening. Gemma Dual pings and runs and should land handy and can hold on to a place. Lulu’s Lad has a smart PB and can work his way into clear room to place.

Top Four Selections: 3 – 4 – 1 – 5
Suggested Bet:

Win bet on King Elliot
Trifecta: 3,4/1,3,4/1,3,4,5,7,8

Race 4 – 520M Winter Cup Heat 1 – 7.41pm

Brilliant race full of high quality dogs, with some of the best locals trying to topple the young champ Keybow. Hew should get a clear run from the get go and the son of Take The Kitty should be far to good. Cyndie’s Special was brilliant here last week running a fast PB of 29.88 from box one. Rose Of Galo is a brilliant beginner, but gets tired if she can’t lead all the way. Not Held is a class act and can fill a place now that he’s back in form.

Top Four Selections: 8 – 1 – 3 – 6
Suggested Bet:

Trifecta: 8/1,3/1,2,3,5,6

Race 5 – 520M Winter Cup Heat 2 – 8.05pm

Another cracking heat with some mighty fine chasers. Late Angel Lee drops back from the 710m trip to contest a group one heat. I believe connections should of left him sprinting and made this their aim instead of targeting the 710m Gold Cup. He did equal the track record from the red, so if he jumps tonight I expect him to win. Buckle Up Wes is the classiest runner of the race and a brilliant chaser, if he pings and goes they won’t catch him. Spud Regis is another superstar who has obviously been targeted towards this race and is now in training with Tony Brett. Love Kills is smart dog and he’ll certainly give his all.

Top Four Selections: 1 – 2 – 5 – 6
Suggested Bet:

Trifecta: 1,2/1,2,5/1,2,5,6,7

Race 6 – 520M Winter Cup Heat 3 – 8.25pm

Awesome Project is one of the best dogs going around at present. His form is outstanding of late and he’s stopping the clock in quick time as well. I’m unsure if he has trialled, but if he handles the track and jumps he’ll win. Duchess Bale is a brilliant bitch who can run fast time and she should come out running and pose a threat. Top Story is a super local chaser but has drawn the wrong side of the track tonight. Chant has pace but is unlikely to trouble these tonight.

Top Four Selections: 3 – 5 – 1 – 4
Suggested Bet:

Trifecta: 3/1,4,5/1,2,4,5,7

Race 7 – 520M Winter Cup Heat 4 – 8.44pm

Another cracking affair that looks a race for the locals. Flash Reality is a brilliant pup and has been given a slight freshen up for this. He should relish box eight and and lead all the way. Peter’s Pick is another serious pup but he lacks the early brilliance needed to climb the Group One ranks. Victorian raider Mepunga Armagh has talent but the box could be his undoing. Captain Clarrie is a local chaser who gives his all every start.

Top Four Selections: 8 – 7 – 6 – 3
Suggested Bet:

Trifecta: 8/6,7/2,3,6,7

Race 8 – 520M Winter Cup Heat 5 – 9.08pm

Gimme Fuel is a fast beginner and a strong dog. If he can clear Yogi Blue early and find the top he should win. Kiss Me Ketut is unbeaten here and a group one winner, so he’ll be super hard to hold out. Yogi Blue is a local chaser who has shown he can match the best. He needs to lead, but if he can he will give some serious cheek. Placid Planet is an interesting runner now trained by Tony Brett. He and hasn’t started for over 6 months, but has a fast PB here so don’t leave him out.

Top Four Selections: 2 – 6 – 1 – 4
Suggested Bet:

Trifecta: 2,6/1,2,6/1,2,3,4,5,6

Race 9 – 600M 4th/5th Grade – 9.28pm

Rumble Street pinged and won easily last week from box six much to my dismay. I backed her in her previous two starts only to watch my money go down the drain. She steps up to 600m tonight where she has won in fast time. If she pings again tonight she should win. Premier’s Reign is racing consistently and she’ll pose a threat. Abbey Corsair is as strong as they come, so expect her to be powering home. Hougenie loves the track and has a smart PB. She’ll run on late along with Bellisimo Belle, who is likely to lob handy.

Top Four Selections: 6 – 7 – 5 – 3
Suggested Bet:

Win bet on Rumble Street
Trifecta: 6,7/5,6,7/1,3,5,6,7,8

Race 10 – 520M 5th Grade – 9.52pm

Fancy Stitches drops a long way in grade here tonight and I expect that to be enough for her to win. She’s fair early with good drive and a fast PB of 30.00. With a clear run she wins. Rainbow Rex is a great money spinner and is sure to challenge here at some stage. Tejay’s Tiger has been around the mark of late and is likely to challenge. Auriga Doll drops back from the 710m trip, but is well drawn and a likely place hope.

Top Four Selections: 3 – 1 – 4 – 6
Suggested Bet:

Win bet on Fancy Stitches
Trifecta: 3/1,4/1,4,6,7

Leg 1: 1,2,5
Leg 2: 3,5
Leg 3: 8
Leg 4: 1,2,4,6

$24.00 for 100%

Best Bet:
Race 3 Box 3 King Elliot
Race 10 Box 3 Fancy Stitches.

Both runners are trained by Reg Hazelgrove, it looks a great all up bet.

Best Roughie:
Race 2 Box 2 More Aries Eachway.

Past Discussion

  1. He equaled the record from the red…. 29.57
He’s a far better dog then tonight’s run,
He’s a genuine group 1 winning dog. His preparation has let him down.
