Leg 1 – PLACE BET – Tanks Pank – Wentworth Park Race 4 No. 5 @ $3.80
Tanks Punk is debuting over the staying trip in this event and despite meeting a handy lineup he should run a cheeky race at nice place odds. He has won four of his last five starts including a blistering last-start 29.60 win at Gosford. Prior to that he had been racing well over the middle distance trips and, while the extra 100m is a concern, he should lead for a long way and is capable of holding on for a place.
Leg 2 – WIN BET – Dandy Jack – Wentworth Park Race 7 No.2 @ $4.50
Dandy Jack has been racing very consistently of late against some top company and he should relish being back at Wentworth Park where he boasts a 29.93 personal best. He is drawn well on the inside and he should be able to slot into a nice spot behind front runner Too Many Daddys (box one) in the early stages. His biggest threats look to be the rails runner and recent Group 2 Black Top runner up Maja Mahi Mahi (box eight), but with the right run he is capable of pinching this event.
Leg 3 – WIN BET – Magic Spring – Wentworth Park Race 8 No.2 @ $3.20
Magic Spring is a brilliant beginner and from the ideal draw tonight he appears perfectly positioned to land right on the bunny out. He has won two of his past three starts over the track and trip, the first of which was in 30.01 which would see him go close in this event. He isn’t overly strong in the run home and there are a couple of powerhouse sprinters in this race, notably One Hill (box three) and Ritza Lenny (box six), but if he can pinch a break going around the first turn he should prove hard to reel in.
