Greyhound Betting Tips For Melbourne Cup Night Thursday 21st November 2013

Tonight is Australia's biggest night of Greyhound racing and I have decided to focus all my attention on Park, where the running of the Group 1 , and Group 1 will take place. $350,000 awaits the winner of the Melbourne Cup, and $100,000 awaits the victor of the Bold Trease.

All tonight's tips will be at Sandown, and hopefully we have found a few from left field for you to place your hard earned on.

Sandown Greyhounds Race 1 Box 7 Tee Brady 7.08pm

The Queenslander Tee Brady has been knocking on the door of late, despite not winning one. His form prior to coming to Victoria was poor, but for some unknown reason he grows a leg here in Vic, and is a huge threat here in this. He's far from a Group 1 dog, but last start he put in a brilliant run, when running third behind Melbourne Cup finalists and Group 1 winner Peter Rocket. He's stopped the clock in a respectable 29.64 here and he looms as a big danger in this tonight. Eachway.

Sandown Greyhounds Race 2 Box 1 Living Proof 7.28pm

The winner, looks too speedy here for these here in this. He's posted at most tracks, and draws the red box here tonight. He's got good early toe, holds the rail and should lead from go to whoa. Will start favourite but looks the winner.

Sandown Greyhounds Race 3 Box 5 Maddison Dee 7.46pm

Punters will be surprised to learn this girl was once racing around in Tassie and struggling to win a 5th grade. She's also whelped a litter of pups and is back racing better then ever. She can win this and will pose a huge threat here. She's never too far away and gets her chance to find the top much earlier than normal here tonight. She can match it with the country's best, and although she's getting on; I still believe she's got what it takes to win a big one. Most of this field are come from behind types, so I'd be looking for a early leader. Box 1 runner Dyna Willow could bounce back to her best here from the rails, but I'll stick with the evergreen chaser Maddison Dee.

Sandown Greyhounds Race 4 Box 3 Skinnie Vinnie 8.11pm

This fellow burst to the front here last week, and it took a Melbourne Cup finalists to knock him off. He should show blinding early pace again here and I fancy him to lead all the way. He's getting stronger with age, like most El Galo progeny and he's a solid eachway chance if he pings.

Sandown Greyhounds Race 5 Box 2 Tomac Bale 8.29pm

How's the quality of this race! This is probably harder then the Group 1 Melbourne cup. There's not a dog in this that can't win, and a chance is given to all 8 runners here. Finding the top, and early speed is the key here, and I expect Tomac Bale to bounce straight in the front here from box rise. Once in front he really burns and can run some exceptional sectionals and he looks the winner here for mine.

Sandown Greyhounds Race 6 Box 2 Lucy Wires 8.57pm

The first of the Big ones tonight, The Group 1 Bold Trease; remembering one of our greatest stayers.

Box 1 Destini Fireball
Why he can win:
Superstar chaser and winner of nearly half a million dollars. Can win as he's been there done, that and will show early toe. Could mid way and continue keep going here tonight. If they jamb up, and he's in front he should hold on.

Why he can't win:
Isn't anywhere neat his best and isn't finishing off his races like he once was. Struggles over the last 80 and there's to many strong dogs in this that can match it with him early and dominate him late.

Box 2 Lucy Wires
Why she can win:
American import who's probably the fastest stayer in Aus. Was super lucky to win last start, after gaining a saloon passage up the inside late in the race. Will get back here tonight, but is as strong as an ox, and should unleash a finishing burst far superior to all of these.

Why she can't win:
It's never easy coming from behind and luck is always needed. She'll be behind the majority of these for nearly the whole race, and she only needs one or two of theses too get in her way and that should spell the end of her chances.

Box 3 Cheetah Zorro
Why she can win:
She capable of leading these and is in great form. She's still improving and can run the trip out. She may be in front of these from the start and can improve 3 or 4 lengths to hold on to win. Britton's Kennel is flying.

Why she can't win:
Lacks the class and tenacity of many of these. Doesn't like the hustle and bustle and would need all the favours and a trouble fee run all the way. Unlikely to get it.

Box 4 Hurricane Isaac
Why he can win:
Suprised us all by leading all the way bar the post here last start. Can show top mid race pace, and could be the improver after running his best staying race in his career ever. Could find a few more lengths without surprising.

Why he can't win:
Surprised last start and lives in the shadow of his brother, box 5 runner Amity Flame. Lacks the class, lacks the strength and isn't a likely hope.

Box 5 Amity Flame
Why he can win:
Big strong dog in flying form and likely to be a major threat. Is the quickest qualifier, and can really challenge the clock with a clear run.

Why he can't win:
Always needs luck and clear running. Must find it early on, and I doubt he'll get the room needed early with most of these racing tightly early on.

Box 6 Hala Belle
Why she can win:
Is apparently as good as superstar Proven Impala, and has shown she's one to keep following. Strong, speedy and made a cracking debut here last week. Got tangled up in the run home and will take great benefit from last weeks heat. It's hard to say where she settles but don't underestimate her – knockout chance.

Why she can't win:
Young dog and a massive step up here. Will be defying history and her best is yet to come. Not a true stayer yet and much more improvement still in her. May find the pressure of a little to much just yet.

Box 7 Freddy's Smile
Why he can win:
Jumped handy and raced well early on, runs the trip out and appears to have improvement still. Could get the trouble free run of the race and may pinch it.

Why he can't win:
No where near the class of these, will need to improve another 6 lengths, and is likely to be spotting the field a handy start. Doesn't possess a brilliant turn of foot, and is far too one paced.

Box 8 Sweet It Is
Why she can win:
Showed the staying trip is her go, and comes from a strong staying family. Debuted in fine fashion and has got a booming finish. May still have a quick beginning left in her and could get the fly from out here. If she's within striking distance she'll get her chance.

Why she can't win:
To0 young, too inexperienced and it would be win number 3 from 14 starts. Only just out of maiden class and unlikely to rewrite history here and win this.

Sandown Greyhounds Race 7 Box 3 Bookkeeper 9.28

His form is tapering off, but I'm hoping it's just been a couple of off nights that's led to him being beaten in his last couple. Can lead, should lead and runs the hands of the clock when in front. Big chance.

Sandown Greyhounds Race 8 The Melbourne Cup Black Magic Opal 9.56pm

An out right here in my eyes and I'm only going to focus on my two winning chances – Black Magic Opal and Shifty Sticka.

Black Magic Opal surprised me when winning last week, but showed the world why he's one of our best chasers. Brilliant beginner and multiple breaker, was found wanting last start at the end of 515 but it was his first attempt in a long time. Will improve dramatically in the run home and as long as he steps away in front he'll win.

Shifty Sticka, young pup who was a tough heat winner; is likely to trail Black Magic Opal from the get go but can stay in touch with the Black Magic Opal if he begins and starts running sectional records? If he can he may run over the top of him; if he can't he may find being off the bunny to much for a young chaser.

Black Magic Opal all the way winner.

Sandown Greyhounds Race 9 Box 7 Take It All 10.28pm

Flying machine with a brilliant PB and record. Loves the outside and should lob handy early. If he gets around the first turn trouble free, he's a massive chance to storm right over the top here.

Sandown Greyhounds Race 10 Box 1 Peloton Bale 10.48pm

Young dog who we haven't seen the best of just yet. Draws the cherry and should get a lovely clear run. He can run time and looks a massive chance if box 3 runner My Boy Fabio Gets squeezed up early.

Sandown Greyhounds Race 11 Box 8 Veyron Bale 11.05pm

Out of form chaser but the class runner and an “old hard head”. Can run time and will handle the 8 box. Takes on a flying pup in , who went 29.36 last start, but he's inexperienced and likely to do something wrong. Stick with the old boy Veyron Bale.
