Greyhound Racing Tips For Monday 22nd June 2009

Welcome to Australian Racing Greyhound's free Greyhound Racing Tips for Monday 22nd June 2009 with Tips tonight from Cranbourne (Victoria), (New South Wales), Albion Park (Queensland) and Angle Park (New South Wales).

With racing tonight from Cranbourne (Victoria), Wentworth Park (New South Wales), Albion Park (Queensland) and Angle Park (New South Wales), lets just review some of our betting advice for the way those tracks play.

Cranbourne races over the 311m, 520m and 699m distances. Punters should stay away from the 311m races as a short run to the first corner cause unpredictable results and leaders usually win. Box 8 is a huge advantage in these races.

The 520m distance runs more consistently and the track show a more normal distribution of the four “bookend” boxes performing best. The 699m races are run infrequently and usually contain one standout selection.

Wentworth Park went from being a very fair track to a leader biased track with the addition of “transition turns” to the corners in the mid 90's. Leaders have been advantaged ever since that track modification and consequently red are small advantage over both the 520m and 720m distances now.

Albion Park was the first track in Australia to move to the finish-on system and it is definitely the better of the two Queensland TAB tracks. A lack of depth in a lot of races can cause upsets at Albion Park when favourites are over-rated or suffer interference. Tread warily when betting on the corner start 600m races; and the 700m races will often throw up odds-on favourites that have alot of weakness about them.

Angle Park is all about leading to the first corner, class dogs will knock up winning in South Australia as their is a definite lack of depth, even at higher grades. Again be wary of betting in 600m and 700m events at Angle Park as in many cases it is just the last throw of the dice for and there are very few genuine stayers.

Wentworth Park Greyhounds – Race 2 – Box 8 – Cawbourne Tuf

After disappointing run at Wentworth Park Cawbourne Tuf could just be the knock out dog here to upset Drover who will start to short for us. On the back of 5 good wins at Bulli, Magnifique's brother Drover will be tomato sauce odds, but with good early pace and a few scratchings Cawbourne Tuf gets his chance to better his 2 seconds from 3 starts so far at Wenty.

Wentworth Park Greyhounds – Race 3 – Box 1 – Cawbourne Bullet

Another race where all the money will come for young greyhound Domino Vitali who has looked very good winning low grade races at Dapto and Richmond. However, she will likely start under the odds and the Gilbert/Lord team will have primed from box 1 to upset favourite backers. Cawbounre Bullet has won 2 of 3 starts from box 1 and as evidenced by his 25.43 win, can run quick times when left alone. Dawdled from box 6 here last week before finishing 2nd in slow time, but should begin much better tonight.

Wentworth Park Greyhounds – Race 4 – Box 1 – Kelmatt's Melody

After 13 starts for 7 wins Kelmatts Melody and 4 wins end on end including a 30.23 debut here last week, this favourite is one who will start justifiably short but should have no trouble getting the cash. Gunning for five on the trot and has run a fying 30.40 at Richmond in amongst thos wins. Gets an ideal box and should be able to show the class that has seens her winning comfortably at recent starts.

Wentworth Park Greyhounds – Race 5 – Box 1 – Rough ‘Em Up

Another box 1 draw for Gilbert/Lord and another box 1 draw for Rough ‘Em Up wo won well here last week coming from near last to run down November Pearl in a respectable 30.44. Rough ‘Em Up had won well at Canberra and Bulli prior to that and at his 4th run here at HQ, he should be right in this.
