Welcome to Australian Racing Greyhound's Greyhound Racing Tips for Monday 28th September 2009 with Tips tonight from Cranbourne (Victoria), (New South Wales), Albion Park (Queensland) and (New South Wales).

If you haven't jumped on the bandwagon yet get yourself set up with an account at Sportsbet, most Australians are still eligible for a $50 Free Bet, no deposit required at one of Ausralia's leading corporate bookies.

With racing from Cranbourne (Victoria), Wentworth Park (New South Wales), Albion Park (Queensland) and Angle Park (New South Wales), lets just review some of our betting advice for the way those tracks play.

Cranbourne races over the 311m, 520m and 699m distances. Punters should stay away from the 311m races as a short run to the first corner cause unpredictable results and leaders usually win. Box 8 is a huge advantage in these races. The 520m distance runs more consistently and the track show a more normal distribution of the four “bookend” boxes performing best. The 699m races are run infrequently and usually contain one standout selection.

Wentworth Park went from being a very fair track to a leader biased track with the addition of “transition turns” to the corners in the mid 90's. Leaders have been advantaged ever since that track modification and consequently red box draws are small advantage over both the 520m and 720m distances now.

Albion Park was the first track in Australia to move to the finish-on system and it is definitely the better of the two Queensland TAB tracks. A lack of depth in a lot of races can cause upsets at Albion Park when favourites are over-rated or suffer interference. Tread warily when betting on the corner start 600m races; and the 700m races will often throw up odds-on favourites that have alot of weakness about them.

Angle Park is all about leading to the first corner, class dogs will knock up winning in South Australia as their is a definite lack of depth, even at higher grades. Again be wary of betting in 600m and 700m events at Angle Park as in many cases it is just the last throw of the dice for connections and there are very few genuine stayers.

Cranbourne Greyhounds – Race 8 – Box 1 – Jay Bartel

Gets his chance ton finally win one tonight having drawn box 1. Had box 1 win 5 starts ago and ran a good second to Speedy Show at Geelong and has won in a flying 27.21 of this draw. Hasn't run a a place since that Geelong run so really needs to turn it around tonight.

Wentworth Park Greyhounds – Race 1 – Box 4 – Queen Rose

Impossible to fault the form of Queen Rose whose has been flying around Richmond's middel distance of late winning all her last 4 starts there over the 620m. In the good hands of the Sultana family, she has led all the way at all those starts and ran a quick 35.54 there 2 wins ago. First crack at the 720m and while there is a slight query, she is more genuine than many of those against here here tonight, and front running stayers usually go very well on debut over the distance.

Wentworth Park Greyhounds – Race 7 – Box 7 – Cawbourne Grace

Cawbourne Grace gets an ideal draw here at Wentworth Park tonight where she has so far started 4 times for 2 thirds. Ran a PB of 30.58 here last time running fourth behind Viva Vegas, but has is unbeaten from box 1 starts at all three attempts. Has some quick wins to her credit and has won 7 of 15 career starts. Is above average, ideally drawn and will go around over the odds.

Wentworth Park Greyhounds – Race 8 – Box 1 – Buckle Bunny

Going to tip this bitch tonight against my better judgment. Despite the fact she can obviously run as witnessed by her last start 29.97 Dapto win last week, I generally find her hard to catch. Has started here at Wentworth Park 8 times for just the 1 win in 30.31 and 4 placings. If she's ever going to look like a real race dog and put 2 wins back to back it should be tonight off this box.

Wentworth Park Greyhounds – Race 9 – Box 1 – Cawbourne Bullet

Tipping a Gilbert/Lord treble on a night where Jodie Gilbert was given the green light to keep training until her appeal against a positive swab is heard. Cawbourne Bullet has started 4 times from this draw for 2 wins and a placing, so expect him to turn around a run of poor efforts and grow a leg tonight. Has started here 5 times for 3 placings.
