Greyhound Racing Tips For Tuesday 10th March 2009

Welcome to Australian Racing Greyhound's free Greyhound Racing Tips for Tuesday 10th March 2009. Last night's Tips again produced the goods with another 5 winners inncluding good priced winners Diana Bale ($4.20 Best Price), Altitude Bale ($3.70 Best Price) and Tearaway Tanya ($5.4 Best Price). Eluthra and Thane rounded out the winners for 60%+ profit on the night.

Of the others, all were very unlucky not to win, copping interference at crucial stages; with the exception of Sculpted at Angle Park. confirmed her status as a rising stayer by finding all sorts of trouble and then only getting clear with 150m to go and finishing just behind the placegetters. And Sardius confirmed to us how you can get everything right and still be wrong when the ususal 311m upset occurred adn Sardius copped a knock from his inside just as he was rounding up the leaders through the corner.

Of all the tips last night only one goes to the NTBBA File and that is Scuplted at Angle Park. This greyhound somwhow got tangled inn the boxes at the start and then tried vailiantly but was very ungainly and his action was so bad he struggled to hold his line and make ground. Obviously has ability but something is so wrong with himat the moment that he can't gallop at all. He goes in to the NTBBA File until he has a long break to get over injury or shows some consistent form.

Those laying our Tips on Betfair didn't have the best of nights, although one or two of the very shoprt runners went under for small profits. Overall, those laying our selections still find themselves with a small 4% Return On Investment (ROI) since began 6 nights ago.

Tonights Greyhound Racing comes from Albion Park (Queensland), Gosford (New South Wales), Lismore (New South Wales), Warragul (Victoria) and Mandurah (West Australia).

Albion Park was the first track in Australia to move to the finish-on lure system and it is definitely the better of the two Queensland TAB tracks. A lack of depth in a lot of races can cause upsets at Albion Park when favourites are over-rated or suffer interference. Tread warily when betting on the corner start 600m races; and the 700m races will often throw up odds-on favourites that have alot of weakness about them. The 395m races are out and go affairs that, like all corner starts, are hazards to your punting dollar.

Gosford was rebuilt in the 90's to replicate the Angle park track layout and that's exactly what they got. A leader biased track that favours the inside boxes over all distances. The 400m races shjould ber avoided where possible as they are a corner start dominated by intereference. The 515m start is heavily biased to ward the insde four boxes (just like Angle Park) due to the short run to the corner and the fact the boxes are a long way off the track. The 600m starts again the inside four boxes and as a corner start punters need to identify leaders or good field dogs. There are very few races run over the 731m distance.

Lismore is almost circular in shape and consequently has two corner starts over the 420m and 635m starts, with box 1 heavily favoured over 420m and box 2 an absolute standout advantage over the 635m. The 520m start advantages the two inside boxes with box 8 next in preference. Again very few 722m races are held but the two inside boxes are advantaged due to the fact that it is very hard to make ground out wide and railers with early pace are advantaged over all distances.

Warragul race over only two distances, the 424m and the 699m journeys. The track is a leader biased track that strongly favours the red box runners over the 424m trip with more than 20% of winners exiting that box. Often plagued by interference in the curving back straight and entering the corner, the eight box is the next best as it is drawn to miss most of the trouble. There are very few races run over the 699m.

Mandurah can be a punters graveyard, the 492m distance, 647m distance and the 302m distances are corner starts and even the 405m start is only a short run before the corner. Good beginners are decidedly advantaged as are the red boxes over all 3 shorter distances.

Albion Park – Race 5 – Box 6 – Matching Outcome

Matching Outcome was resuming last week after a long injury enforced lay-off and was desperately unlucky not to have finished closer.Beginning well from box 6 the son of Just The Best ~ Same Result was unable to get clear running to the first corner but showed enough pace to suggest he'll lead this scratching decimated field tonight. With only four dogs left, Mathcing Outcome should be able to get in the driver's seat and open up a good brerak in the straights, as he still clearly shows the results of injuriy by not showing the same pace through the corners. Not going as well as he used to but still too good for these.

Albion Park – Race 6 – Box 3 – Sargent Elite

Sargent Elite had no luck gaining an early lead last week, but nevertheless worked home very well to run in to third from being close to last at one stage. For a greyhound who'd had all 4 orevious starts of the 395m for 4 unbeaten runs, the run was full of merit. If able to lead Sargent Elite should prove to good for these and run them off their legs. This son of Elite State ~ Cool Power just needs enough room to accelerate at box rise and will have the pace to lead easily.

Gosford – Race 6 – Box 5 – Lochinvar Milano

The Robert Smith trained Lochinvar Milano looks a good bet in Race 6 at Gosford. The son of ~ Busy Pilgrim has had 6 starts for 3 wins and 3 placings inlcuding a 30.10 win at this track and distance from this same box. A last start Wentworth park winner coming from behind, Lochinvar Milano should be able to win this whether he leads or not and with the vacant box to his outside, he gets a great chance to beat them to the first corner.

Gosford – Race 8 – Box 8 – Lochinvar Polo

Another Robert Smith runner Lochinvar Polo looks to have his race at his mercy. A winner of 14 of his 31 starts and a previous 30.01 winner at Gosford, this son of ~ Knockabout Wilma has a vacant box to his inside and should get the room to go up and sit outside early leader Montivideo. A last start 30.20 Wentworth Park winner leading all the way from box 4, it is hard to see him getting beaten.

Lismore – Race 6 – Box 5 – Nigel

Despite giving away experince to his rivals Nigel, by Collision ~ Must Command and trained by Matthew Reid looks like he should be able to lead from his awkward box 5 and prove to good. A veteran of just two starts for 1 win and 1 placing both at Lismore, Nigel ran 4.30, 30.51 winning his maiden here last week and with slow beginners drawn his inside, he should be able to get to the lead once again. Biggest obstacle is the John Dart trained Oh Reign (box 3) who has the ability but with just 2 wins from 12 starts isn't putting it all together.

Lismore – Race 7 – Box 2 – Power Shift

Versatile Power Shift looks home in the only 635m race on the card at Lismore. A recent Wentworth Park 520m winner over Thai Dream running 30.61, Power Shift also has goofd wins at Albion Park over both the 710m and 520m distances to his credit as well as a 35.20 Albion Park 600m win. Despite this being his first start at Lismore, this son of Collision ~ Tears Of Jupiter looks to have struck a purple patch of form and looks too classy for anything else here.

Warragul – Race 4 – Box 2 – Burra Bye

Speedy Burra Bye finished third in the Healesville Cup on the weekend and with the good record of 5 wins from 11 starts with 3 placings, this daughter of Carnage ~ Burra Lass looks capable of leading this field and winning. Ather only two starts on the circle, Burra Bye led both times at Sandown only to be run down. This 424m race looks far more suitable and with slow beginners on her inside and outside she should lead from go to woe.

Warragul – Race 8 – Box 1 – New Model

Pacy ex New South Wales greyhound New Model has racked up 3 wins since coming South including 25.83 , 25.43 and 24.12 here at Warragul, from just the 5 starts. By Bombastic Shiraz ~ Chilli Berger, New Model did lead at his win here last time, but will probably take a sit behind the leaders here and prove too strong in the run to the line.

Mandurah – Race 4 – Box 2 – Punk On Ice

First starter Punkk On Ice has obviously had some issues being a January 2006 whelping that is only having her first start now, but she was a good best of night 23.02 qualifying trial winner on 26th February 2009 at this track and distance starting from box 1 and leading all the way. With a slow beginner boxed to her inside, there seems no reason she won't repeat the effort as there is nothing else in this field that could 23.50 let alone 23.02. She has half a second on the whole field.

Mandurah – Race 6 – Box 1 – Rapt All Wrong

Quite the opposite of Punk On Ice, Rapt All Wrong is about half a second behind the best dogs in her race, but she is a quick beginner trained by a good trainer in Pete Sayer, and she has drawn the coveted red box. A winner of a Mandurah qualifying trial in 23.49 and her maiden win in 23.38, both leading all the way at this track and distance; she finds herself drawn in a field completely devoid of early pace. With nothing that can lead here or trouble her early she should set up a nice lead that they won't be able to catch within the 405m journey.
