Greyhound Racing Tips For Tuesday 21st July 2009

Welcome to Australian Racing Greyhound's free Greyhound Racing Tips for Tuesday 21st July 2009 with Tips tonight from Tips tonight from Albion Park (Queensland), Ipswich (Queensland), Gosford (New South Wales), Lismore (New South Wales), Warragul (Victoria) and Mandurah (West Australia).

With racing tonight from Albion Park (Queensland), Ipswich (Queensland), Gosford (New South Wales), Lismore (New South Wales), Warragul (Victoria) and Mandurah (West Australia), lets review our track advice for those tracks.

Albion Park was the first track in Australia to move to the finish-on system and it is definitely the better of the two Queensland TAB tracks. A lack of depth in a lot of races can cause upsets at Albion Park when favourites are over-rated or suffer interference. Tread warily when betting on the corner start 600m races; and the 700m races will often throw up odds-on favourites that have alot of weakness about them. The 395m races are out and go affairs that, like all corner starts, are hazards to your punting dollar.

Ipswich can be a punters graveyard and as a general rule punters avoid investing in the 431m races unless you are laying them on Betfair, as the corner starts throws up many unlikely winners and lots of interference. If you must bet on these races, box 1 wins almost twice as many races as every other box with the exception of the second best box, box 2. The 520m races are a little more even, but have a decided bias toward the four inside boxes due to the short run to the corner and even class greyhounds find it hard to win from wide boxes. The 630m races are another corner start.

Gosford was rebuilt in the 90's to replicate the Angle park track layout and that's exactly what they got. A leader biased track that favours the inside boxes over all distances. The 400m races shjould ber avoided where possible as they are a corner start dominated by intereference. The 515m start is heavily biased to ward the insde four boxes (just like Angle Park) due to the short run to the corner and the fact the boxes are a long way off the track. The 600m starts again the inside four boxes and as a corner start punters need to identify leaders or good field dogs. There are very few races run over the 731m distance.

Lismore is almost circular in shape and consequently has two corner starts over the 420m and 635m starts, with box 1 heavily favoured over 420m and box 2 an absolute standout advantage over the 635m. The 520m start advantages the two inside boxes with box 8 next in preference. Again very few 722m races are held but the two inside boxes are advantaged due to the fact that it is very hard to make ground out wide and railers with early pace are advantaged over all distances.

Warragul race over only two distances, the 424m and the 699m journeys. The track is a leader biased track that strongly favours the red box runners over the 424m trip with more than 20% of winners exiting that box. Often plagued by interference in the curving back straight and entering the corner, the eight box is the next best as it is drawn to miss most of the rouble. There are very few races run over the 699m.

Mandurah can be a punters graveyard, the 492m distance, 647m distance and the 302m distances are corner starts and even the 405m start is only a short run before the corner. Good beginners are decidedly advantaged as are the red boxes over all 3 shorter distances.

Warragul Greyhounds – Race 1 – Box 5 – Must Be Magic

flew around in the heats of this race last week, running 9.44 early and 24.26 overall from box 8. With slow beginners boxed all around her she should be able to lead again and steal this race from the favourite in box who ran .01 second quicker overall last week but is 2 lengths slower early.

Warragul Greyhounds – Race 3 – Box 1 – Coupe De Ville

Coupe De Ville is well drawn to repeat his debut effort here last week running 24.23 from box 2 and starting from box 1 tonight. That run was the best of the Maiden heats and best of the night, so won't suprise to see this son of Pure Octane ~ Cape Reality show up again.

Warragul Greyhounds – Race 4 – Box 8 – Viva Vegas

Don't be surprised to see Viva Vegas improve here tonight from the box 8 draw and pinch this at odds. Trained by Angela Langton/Jeff Britton this is another son of Return The King and the breed tend to like it wide and without traffic. From box he can only bring himself undone and with the improvement can easily run the time to win.

Gosford Greyhounds – Race 2 – Box 8 – Locatelli

The Dave Righetti trained Locatelli has been a heart break greyhound for punters, having won only 3 races from 16 starts and having started favourite in many of those. Came to the fore in the Magic Maiden series at running a flying 30.14 from box 6. Has struggled to repeat that form on many occassion since but is stepping up to the 600m here for the first time tonight and is entitled to lead. Has always gone on with it once in front and suspect that's Righetti's plan tonight.

Gosford Greyhounds – Race 5 – Box 6 – Over Some

Over Some has created a good impression in just the 5 career start all at Richmond winning on 3 occassions and running second. Has managed to get her PB down to 30.86 there and despite failing last start at Richmond behind Domino Vitali, really looks a standout here tonight. Has already won from box 6 so we know she can handle the wide draw and has trialled here at Gosford. Looks the winner.

Gosford Greyhounds – Race 8 – Box 8 – Forty Twenty

Despite losing his last past 2 starts Forty Twenty should be able to re-assert his authority here and move to win number 15 from 22 starts. Could well be looking for his third track record tonight if conditions suit on his home track although this field is not a complete pushover with Gold Slammer engaged. Hopefully Forty Twenty can secure a rails run at some point and let Gold Slammer cart him in to the race. Track record for the Gosford 731m is 43.30 held by I Love Lucy since August 2007 and they don't run many over this distance so keep an eye on the time.

Lismore Greyhounds – Race 7 – Box 1 – Falcon Flash

Not great odds on offer but here but should win again for Lee Wylie and continue his unbeated run. Has won his past 3 starts in good style, including a last start 30.51 win here when we were on him last week. That win added to wins here and at Albion Park and has shown good early speed at all those wins. Record now reads 5 starts for 3 wins, 1 second and a 3rd and should have littel trouble making it win number 4.
