Greyhound racing tips for Tuesday 22nd August 2017

NO tips could be identified yesterday due to the lack of quality greyhound racing on offer. The last selection we offered up was on Sunday at Healesville and Peter Galo (Peter Rocket x Flossy Dec '15) duly saluted with ease running away with the second race of the day. The win took his record to three wins from four starts but we couldn't get set at the right price to profit from the win. We'd set a strike price of $1.22 but the best we could find anywhere only hit $1.16, so there was no bet and hence no recent results.

The Australian Racing Greyhound free greyhound tips are outperforming early expectations with a combined strike rate of 39% and and a profit of over 120 units.

Cloona Express (Fabregas x Magic Matese Mar '15) has drawn ideally in box two for this 410m final up against a good field. We're using our box stat knowledge to know that boxes one, two and four are advantaged and additionally Cloona Express ran 23.48 best of day last week to be the fastest finalist here. Ran the equal fastest first split last week to go with it, so just needs to clear Tiggerlong Boo to his inside and should win this running away. The main “run on” danger in Crash Bandicoot has been scratched.

Having a bit of a throw at the stumps here because of the knowledge we have regarding track stats at the new Horsham track. Both the quality greyhounds and likely favourites are drawn in boxes seven and eight in this race, and we know there hasn't been a single winner from those boxes in the past four meetings. We'll be getting value about Big Rough (Lochinvar Marlow x Bogie Dawn Feb '15) who was a last start winner at Mt Gambier form box two as a $2.80 favourite, and has won four of his five career wins from the three inside boxes. Strong greyhound who should be aided by the apparent track bias.

Best Bet: Race 8 Box 4 Lightning Frank – $500 Free Bet at Ladbrokes
The 2017 G1 Silver Chief and Temlee winner Lightning Frank (Black Magic Opal x Kirabilli Abbie Sep '14) lines up here first up from a spell since a disappointing run in the 2017 Warrnambool Classic final. Was due to resume last week at the abandoned Ballarat meeting so have to assume the extra week has only helped fitness wise. Has hopefully trialled here as the trainer is based reasonably closely, and does draw a box that has a remarkable record at Horsham having won 13 of a possible 48 races, and four of 18 at this distance. Class runner who should win if anywhere near close to his best first up for three and a half months.
