This race looks to be a genuine race in two between Krakow Mclaren and Punishment. From the pink draw I’m going to give Punishment the edge. He is normally a reliable beginner and he is armed with a ridiculous turn of foot soon after box rise. With three wins from nine tries here and a brilliant 29.84 PB, he is going to take a power of beating. Krakow Mclaren is airborne at present and she really caught the eye with a slick 29.92 win here last Thursday. She should match motors with Punishment for a long way but I think Punishment will edge away up the home straight. Allen Paragon and Solar Storm should fight for the minor money, Allen Paragon was handily placed here behind Yambla Mick last time and the smaller field will suit.

Top Four: 8 – 7 – 4 – 1

Out To Win returned to form with a commanding 22.36 win here over 388m and he should be able to repeat the effort over the 515m journey. There isn’t a whole lot of early speed drawn around him so he should be able to drive to the early lead and from there on he should prove far too zippy for his rivals. Lektra Ripper is the run on dog on the event and with an ounce of luck early he will prove very hard to hold out. He recently powered to the line when scoring at Gawler in 30.92. Dr. Danny and Dyna Olsen should battle it out for third spot, both should settle just off the pace and they won’t be too far away at the end.
