Greyhound Tips For Saturday 1st June 2013
Tremendous night of racing tonight at Wentworth Park, with the heats of the Peter Mosman. Theirs plenty of talent engaged, with the headline being former NSW chaser Black Magic Opal who will get the night started in race 1.
Wentworth Park Greyhounds Race 4 , Box 4 Triggsy 8.27pm
It's always very tough trying to find a winner amongst a field of stars but I'm going against my general rule and going with Triggsy, as opposed to the perfectly boxed Fast Archer. Fast Archer is fresh from a spell and it will either work one or to ways, for him; he will either bounce and and lead all the way, or bounce out and get a little tired. I'm hoping the later occurs, and Triggsy storms over the top of him. Triggsy can lead and has posted his best time from box 4. I expect both dogs to jump and clear out, and although Triggsy has a 2 length slower PB, he's my on top selection here tonight.
The Meadows Greyhounds, Race 4 Box 4 Surf Mail, 8.20pm
Another tough card tonight and nothing that jumps out and says pick me, so I'm going with the favourite Surf Mail. If we can get $1.80 about him I reckon that's stealing money. He's by far the classiest runner in the race, and I don't think he will have any trouble flogging these here. Since coming from QLD he's been a model of consistency, and will race from behind or in front. He has enough speed to hit the lead early in this and race right away. He's yet to win over the 600 here, but tonight looks the night. Should easily salute in this.
Cannington Greyhounds, Race 7 Box 1 Houdini Monelli, 9.12pm. WA time
Another shorty her to round off the tips for the night. Houdini has drawn perfectly here in this box, and has run god time over the 642 journey. He's a experienced campaigner and knows how to get the job done. From box 1 he should spear straight to the front and take a great deal of running down. Tree Bandit is the only danger but he wil be giving the leader 3 lengths early and I doubt whether his able to make up that ground. Perfect box, fast dog and fit as a fiddle for this. Should win.
