8FLEETWOOD ZAC [5]71113NBTA Langton (Anakie)

Fleetwood Zac is showing loads of promise and he looks well placed in the pink draw. Two starts ago he posted an impressive 30.38 Meadows win from this draw and if he can step on terms with them he should have enough speed to settle in the top three.

Maintenance Man looks the likely leader and he broke through for a well deserved Meadows win in 30.50. His last 50m isn't great but if he happens to find the bunny early he will give a great sight.

Macca's Sway is much better than his recent form reads and with some luck in the first 50m he should make a big impact.

Fleetwood Jay rounds out the chances, he is a littermate to Fleetwood Zac and he too is an improving type. He needs to probably go a little quicker on the clock than he has in his past two wins but I think he is more than capable.

Zipping Makka is a great place prospect, he hasn't won for quite a while but he is a very strong type and he must be included in your exotic bets.

9BLONDE NELLIE [5]Res.2363134.95(1)J Paterson (Tenby Point)

Reen's Fabian is a class act when on song and he looks well graded in this event. He is armed with genuine early speed and he gapped a solid lineup when scoring at Sale in a more than handy 37.52. There is no speed drawn on his outside and that should allow him to get all the breaks as they head into the first turn.

Flying Twist is much better than her recent form suggests and she has the draw to feature tonight. She has been racing against class acts of late and her effort when placed behind My Bro Fabio four runs back was eye catching.

Mepunga Tiara hasn't had much luck in recent times and she does her best racing here, if she can step cleanly she should be able to settle in the first half of the field, when given room to gallop she is capable of reeling off very quick sectionals.

Darbain Dasher has a solid record here and he is never far away over this journey. He will get a long way back early but he can run home strongly into a place.

Xtreme Knocka is a star talent when on song and he showed his best when posting a breathtaking 29.56 win. From the red draw he should be able to hold a forward spot early and if he reproduces his Wentworth Park effort he will prove way too hard to reel in. His box manners can be very hit or miss but from the red he should get all the breaks.

Size Does Matter has plenty of gears and he recently finished strongly to score at in 30.19. He tends to make a lot of mistakes in his races but when given a clear run he is capable of matching it with the fastest chasers in the land.

Cosmic Angel hasn't had much luck since running the hands off the clock at Wentworth Park in 29.62 last month and with a better getaway he should return to form. She is better suited to a rails draw but Lamia Bale should give her a nice cart across in the early stages.

Jayney Bale is a highly promising type and she should prove hard to hold out based on her impressive 29.53 PB here. She normally shows early speed in her races and with slow beginners drawn either side she should be able to assume control soon after box rise. She is getting stronger and stronger with every effort and if she happens to find the lure I can't see them getting near her.

All Strung Out is well drawn out wide and he has plenty of gears, his box manners aren't great but he does muster speed at a rate of knots, two starts ago he was placed behind the dynamic Secret Spell and a similar effort tonight would see him prove hard to hold out.

Cornelius Fudge regained some confidence with an impressive 28.05 win. He has a great record here and his win last time suggests he is somewhere near his best.

Dyna Geldof can ping the lids at times and he beat a classy lineup at The Meadows in 30.21, a repeat effort will see him make an impact again.

Great lineup and I think Hostile is drawn to get every chance. Two starts ago he destroyed a handy field and stopped the clock in an explosive 29.28. From the red he should have sufficient speed to hold them out and when on the bunny it will take an almighty effort to reel him in. He can miss away at times but from the red the run to the first bend can be a little more forgiving.

My Bro Fabio is a superstar and capable of just about anything but his racing pattern does hurt him. He is likely to get a long way back but he is going far too well to dismiss. If he is even money or shorter then I think he is a massive lay and it is best just to include him in your exotic bets.

Allen Deed is ideally placed in the pink draw and he hasn't had much luck since winning the Adelaide Cup, he was going to just about lead the shootout before getting knocked over, from a similar draw tonight he should settle in a prominent position and he will take a power of beating.

Mepunga Hayley rounds out the chances, she is an enormous talent but she can be hard to follow. If she pings away she will prove very hard to hold out and she will be nice odds.

10MANILA EXPRESS [5]Res.21413NBTC Abbott (Edenhope)

Great staying lineup and I think the super star in the making Space Star can get the job done. This race doesn't feature a lot of early speed and if he can step away on terms he should have too much speed for them as they head into the first turn. Last week he stopped the clock at 41.65 in his debut here and I think with a clear run again he should probably be able to go a little quicker.

Sweet It Is will be steaming home like always and she has a tremendous record here, she is obviously a great winning chance but I dont think she can afford to give Space Start too big of a head start. Two starts back she smashed the clock when winning here in 41.46 and that type of effort would see her win tonight.

Blinker's On is the only other winning prospect, he turned in a monster effort here last week and if he can avoid early bother he has the talent to go one better. Like Sweet It Is, he will need some luck as they head into the first turn.

9DARBAIN DASHER [5]Res.1532534.34(5)R Conway (Bunyip)

Ralphy Cinel is a lid pinger and he has won three of his five tries over this journey. There doesn't appear to be a heap of speed drawn underneath him tonight so if he can step well he will have the speed to cross and if he reproduces his 34.10 PB run, then it will be hard to see them reeling him in.

Musquin Bale is well drawn out wide and he should get a nice cart across from Ralphy Cinel early, he isn't a genuine 600m chaser but when he settles in the top two he is capable of playing a major role.

Oscura has a big engine and if he can get through the first bend he will make a major impact. He has been bombing the start of late so he will need a few things to go his way as they head into the first turn.

Sisco Rage is in career best form and he has won four of six here, if he pings away he may give them something to catch at nice odds.

The main event on the night sees an all star lineup set to do battle. Honestly I think every runner has a winning hope except for Cosmic Wise. Each runner has the ability to ping the lids and whoever finds the early lead will just about win the prize. Chica Destacada is the one I have on, she exploded from the traps in her heat and she never looked in doubt when posting a blistering 29.22 heat win. She should have the speed to cross Keybow early and if she leads I'm expecting there to be quite a bit of shuffling up at the first turn behind her.

Dyna Villa looks well placed in the pink draw and Luca Neveelk should give him a great cart across as they head into the first turn. Last week he reeled off PB's throughout the journey and a similar effort tonight would see him put pressure on Chica Destacada for the entire journey.

Keybow is fairly well drawn and he is all class, if he can hold his position as they head through the first bend he will prove extremely hard to hold out, he can run the hands off the clock and he is all class.

Star Recall is another who must be respected, she is ridiculously fast and she has scored some tremendous wins in recent months, my only concern with her is that there is a heap of speed drawn on her outside.

Ballerino has been racing in tremendous fashion of late and if he can step cleanly he should have the speed to lead all the way. Last time out he mustered pace very quickly and beat a classy lineup when posting a smart 29.97 at The Meadows. There is no speed on his outside tonight so he should get a fairly clear passage in the first 50m.

Wind Whistler is the run on type in the event and he only needs an ounce of luck early to feature. He is much better than his recent form suggests and he has won five of 13 over this track and trip, if the gaps open mid race, he will prove hard to hold out.

Tiggerlong Amigo is a star talent and he also races very well here, the concern with him is that he likes to get wide and he will need a few things to go his way as he heads into the first bend.

Veyron Bale could be a threat if he happened to find his best form, however he has struggled in recent times, if he steps cleanly and can find the rail early he could play a major role.

Jewel Action is making her debut here but she has been flying at present at her home track Wentworth Park and if she brings that form to Sandown she should lead all the way tonight. She is normally a very reliable beginner and she has a solid record from this draw, with an even getaway she shouldn't have too much trouble getting across.

Where's The Surf has had two runs since a short spell and he should be primed to show his best. His recent form doesn't read to well but he is all class when he is fit and confident. He has constantly raced against the best and he should appreciate racing in this class.

Shoulders is a very fast chaser when on the bunny and if he doesn't get carved up by Jewel Action early he should run a monster race. Three starts ago he beat Jewel Action at Wentworth Park in a slick 29.77.

Dyna Nihilist has a big motor but he can make a few mistakes in his races, he is likely to get back early but if the gaps open mid race he should be there to pounce at the end.

Cawbourne Whip turned in a massive performance when placed in a heat of the Melbourne Cup last week and if she turns in a similar effort she will take a power of beating. She has been placed in her three tries here and with the speed Aristotle Bale drawn underneath she should get a nice cart across as they head into the first turn.

Waymore Blues is a super talent when on song and although he is poorly drawn tonight he must be respected. He can be a little hit or miss early but he does possess a wonderful turn of foot and if given room early he would have enough speed to find the lead as they head into the first bend.

Eliza Blanche is dropping back in distance but she is absolutely flying and is always a chance, she normally pings the lids and then has a flat spot mid race, if she can ping tonight that should allow her to settle in a prominent position and she will finish off the race very strongly.

Come On Fantasy rounds out the chances, she has the good draw and she has been racing fairly consistently of late.

Sandown Race 12 – Mixed 4/5th Grade – 515 metres- 10:57pm (VIC TIME)

Good race to finish off the night and I think the up and coming Benzo Bale can get the job done, he has shown a heap of improvement lately and he really caught the eye when winning her last week in a brilliant 29.50. With the empty draw underneath he should be able to find a cheap lead and that should allow him to a race winning lead mid race.

Nockabout Aussie has explosive talent but he does do a lot of things wrong in his races, this is probably the weakest race he has contested for quite some time and if he gets some luck mid race he will take a power of beating.

Blue Giant is a litter and kennelmate to Nockabout Aussie and he is blessed with similar talent and a similar knack for finding trouble, the red draw doesn't suit tonight but he is too good to dismiss.

Dynamic Punch could be the value in the event, he is well drawn out wide and his recent form is much better than it reads.

Top Four: 6 – 2 – 1 – 8
