Heston Bale Awarded Australia’s Best Greyhound Race In August 2012

AGRA's for August 2012 has been awarded to brilliant Victorian chaser Heston Bale. His enormous performance to run down a high quality FFA field at Park on August 16 was the type of effort we have become use to from the star sprinter.

In an extraordinary effort Heston Bale after beginning well got tangled with other runners in the run to the post, then at the first turn he was knocked sideways and pushed wide on the track losing all . Picking himself up and setting chase after the leaders he looked a fleeting chance off the back straight. He then made a dash at the top of the home stretch and mowing the field down in the run to line got up right on the post for a memorable win.

It's the sort of performance we have become use to from holder and he looks back to his best after being laid off with a serious toe injury from February until late July. The star performer has since put together another two wins at the Meadows and looks a force to be reckoned with in the coming months of rich racing in Victoria.

Heston Bale is a Black Dog whelped October 2009 by Bartrim Bale from (Sonic Flight x Evonne Bale) he is raced by Paul Wheeler and trained by the Dailly team at Anakie in Victoria. He has raced 24 times for 13 wins and seven placings his overall stake earnings stand at $83,850.

As usual there were some outstanding runs recorded in August but given Heston Bale is just returning to his best after such a long layoff, too run down such a quality field he got the nod for the monthly award.

AGRA congratulates Heston Bale's connections after being judged the AGRA Run of the Month for August 2012, his second after winning the award in January. He joints June winner , who has also won it twice this year plus the February winner , April winner and July winner Exclusive One as the AGRA runs of the month for 2012.
