Iso Octane Named Australian Greyhound Of The Month For June 2011

's for June is New South Wales owned and Queensland trained sprinter Iso Octane.

In June Iso Octane had a run of wins at , during the month he won five straight including the heat and final of the Garrards Winter Cup.

The talented sprinter hasn't put a paw out of place since entering the kennel of leading Queensland mentor Tony Brett, the black speedster is unbeaten in seven starts and is racing rare form.

Iso Octane in June won three best 8 races in 30.05, 29.98 and 29.94 before winning his heat of the Winter Cup in 30.01. He was too good for Mercy Rule winning by eight and three quarter lengths.

Iso Octane raced away down the back and never looked in danger of defeat leading all the way. He returned his fastest winning time of his eight wins on the track a brilliant 29.93 with sections of 5.69 and 11.55.

Tony Brett is unsure what his plans are for Iso Octane however he is very much looking forward to the Sprint Championship in late August given the national final on August 25 is at Albion Park a track Iso Octane has made his own since the middle of May.

Iso Octane is Black dog whelped December '07 he is by Pure Octane from Tiny Milly (Knockabout Wok x Tiny Suzie). He is raced by Tyrone Whittington and and trained by Tony Brett at Granchester in Queensland. Iso Octane's current record stands at 56 starts for 23 wins and 13 placings and prizemoney earnings of $139,303.

The month of June has seen a number group races decided. Iso Octane beat Group 1 winners Bobby Boucheau, Amarkler Girl and Allen Harper, plus Group 2 winners and for the monthly award.
