Iva Vision Takes Out The 2014 Group Three SA Derby

Iva Vision did not let punters down when he saluted in the final of the Three at on Thursday night.

The son of Ivan Brown and Visualization (Surf Lorian – Leataro) stopped the clock at a slick 29.57 in an imperious six-length rout.

Iva Vision left box eight in third place behind Dyna Ostrander (6) who was one of the best away with Dyna Alchemist (4) also chiming in. However, the Queenslander used the wide draw to perfection. While the inside division were bustling for a spot he timed his run to the nano-second to get across the field just as he was entering the first corner. From that point, the race was all but over as the 36kg black dog sped away to claim the $25,000 winners .

The two strong chasers Wind Whistler (1) and Texas Titan (7) filled the minors. Wind Whistler's run was almost as impressive as Iva Vision's. He copped some interference down the home straight the first time and showed great race sense to wind his way through the field to find some clear running in the closing stages.

Of the others, the chances of top SA hope Aston Kane (3) were obliterated within a few strides of leaving the boxes as he checked heavily off Allen Icarus (2) and lost all .

The Derby win was the tenth career victory for Iva Vision. The Peter Young trained chaser has only faced the starter 15 times, so he is blossoming into a serious race dog. He has now amassed over $50,000 for and with the world his oyster, he is sure to be able to add to that over the coming months.
