Paul Stuart Dominates Young Star Heats

had a night to remember on Saturday night after securing six runners for next week's Three Final.

In the first heat of the night Astronomize started as the $2.40 favourite from box six. As expected Starlight Jack (box two) paying $3.70 and Cork Popper (box three) paying $9.00 led the field out of the boxes, with Astronomize not far behind. It was only a matter of time before Astronomize worked his way into second place while Alotta Luck was doing the hard yards working his way through the rear end of the field. Starlight Jack was able to hold onto victory by a neck over Astronomize, Cork Popper and Alotta Luck (box eight) in a time of 30.42.

The second heat of the Group Three event saw another one of Stuart's chasers Quartz Bale (box seven) start as $1.60 favourite. From box rise Downlight (box one) paying $5.50 and Quartz Bale were in a world of their own, with Quartz Bale quickly outclassing his kennel-mate, continually extending his lead to 6 ¾ lengths in a sizzling time of 30.17. Downlight held on to second with Western Bound (box six) paying $34.00 and Romeo's Comet (box four) paying $17.00 finished third and fourth respectively.

Tureaud held $1.70 favouritism in the last heat of night from box three, with punters right on the money. Tureaud flew out of the boxes, with litter-mate Wired For Speed (box six) paying $3.10 meeting him on the rails. My Party (box one) paying $10.80 sat behind the duo on the rails. Wired For Speed was lucky not to get caught up in the trouble behind her that took Velocity (box two), King Size Trotter (box four) and Arctic Wolf (box eight) out of the race. The field was spread across the home straight with Tureaud claiming victory by 9 ¼ lengths in a time of 30.38 over Wired For Speed, My Party and a hard working Kalden Kamanchee (box seven).

Time honours of the night went to the trained Proven Will who clocked a personal best time of 30.13. The son of Where's Pedro – Proven Lilly has been with the Britton camp for just under a year with consistent performances in Free To All Company. Britton produced a trifecta in the race with Living Proof and Burundi rounding out the minor placing's.
