Queen Lauryn Awarded AGRA October Run of The Month

‟s for October 2009 has been awarded to outstanding all distance star . The Queenslander ran the hands of the clock recording a scintillating 29.42 in her heat of the Sapphire Crown Classic at Sandown on October 28.

Stepping out after a brilliant win in the 2 Schweppes All Stars at the previous Saturday night „The Queen‟ began well from box 3, leading through the first turn before showing stunning mid-race pace to put a gap on the rest of the field. All eyes turned to the clock as she raced away from her rivals before stopping the clock in a stunning 29.42 seconds, the fastest time ever recorded by a bitch.

Her 7.25 length win was the fourth fastest time ever run at the Lightwood Road circuit and was a stunning six-length improvement on her 2008 Crown Classic winning time.

Queen Lauryn defends her title on Thursday night from box five setting up a show down with the bitch of the moment . The back to back group one winner will have her work cut out defeating Queen Lauryn if the “Queen” can reproduce her 29.42 run of last week.

It is going to be a very thrilling race this Thursday night, next for Queen Lauryn is a certain start in the Shoot-Out on November 13 a race also targeted by Tony Brett. Following the Shoot-Out Queen Lauryn‟s next mission maybe a possible start in the heats of the Melbourne Cup on November 19.

Queen Lauryn is a Black bitch whelped December 2005 by Token Prince from (Bright Ebony x Cheeky Villain) she is raced by Queensland race caller and his family. Queen Lauryn is trained by Tony Brett from Grandchester she has raced 46 times for 28 wins and 11 placings with her current stake earnings standing at $276,035.

As usual there were some outstanding runs recorded in October with fast times on both city and country circuits all over Australia. As always it was a difficult decision coming up with the AGRA Run of the Month for October, but given the effort of recording such a stunningly quick time on a metro circuit Queen Lauryn got the verdict, she was a finalist last year and makes the elite 12 selected runs again this year.

AGRA congratulates owners Steve Hawkins and his family, trainer Tony Brett and Queen Lauryn on being judged the AGRA Run of the Month for October 2009. She join‟s last month‟s winner Goodesy, Sand Burner, Mutt Lange, Forty Twenty (2) , Taipan Bale, , and the January winner Scull Murphy as this year‟s AGRA Runs of the Month for 2009.
