Symmetry Lines Up May 2011 Run Of The Month

's for May 2011 has been awarded to the versatile sprinter-stayer Symmetry.

He won the award for his extraordinary performance when he came from last to win a heat of on May 19th.

The powerful Robert Britton trained sprinter, come stayer and middle distance performer put up an amazing performance to qualify for the final. Beginning average as he sometimes can, Symmetry was back last at the post the first time.

Railing around the first turn he got to fifth without making too much ground. Down the back he continued to push forward getting to third and fourth pass the 600 boxes, however still not traveling like a winner he dived through on the rail at the home turn. As the leader Star Diamond started to shorten stride Symmetry swept pass him racing away to conformably win in the run to the line.

Symmetry has been a mighty chaser for connections having been runner-up in the 2010 Melbourne Cup behind the brilliant he has won the Cup and the Group 2 at . The Dawson was his 11th Group race final all contested over a number of different distances.

Symmetry is raced and was bred by Helen Ivers he is a Black dog whelped March 2007 by Flying Penske from Classy Creek (Rapid Journey x Sheza Swifty). Symmetry has won 21 of his 50 starts and has been placed on 14 occasions and his current stake earnings stand at $235,660.

As usual there were some outstanding runs recorded in May but Symmetry got the nod for his outstanding performance running down a quality field in a heat of the Group 3 Dawson.

AGRA congratulates owner-breeder Helen Ivers and trainer Robert Britton plus Symmetry on being judged the AGRA Run of the Month for April 2011. He joins the previous winners for 2011 , Enry Walt, stayer Bobby Boucheau and Queenslander Bogie King.
