Miss Limit downed Sally Alla and the ever-present Mustard Moss to take out the 1970 Sydney Cup at Wentworth Park. Miss Limit ran the 790 yards trip in 43.4, just 2/10ths outside the race record held by Zoom Top.

The John Finn-trained Sailing Waverly took his prize money to $98,615 when he scored a one length victory over South Australian star Gem Supreme in the 1992 Sydney Cup, run over 720 metres at Wentworth Park. Equability was just a head away third. The final featured Laddies A Star from Western Australia, Academy Monaro from Tasmania, and the Victorian pair of Pace Galore and Bon Jamie. It was also the last Sydney Cup final to be run on grass.

Queensland champion Top Simbi ran a race record 32.85 to take out the 1973 Gabba Sprint Championship (now known as the Brisbane Cup) over 558 metres. Top Simbi downed Solar Moss by five lengths with Soval third and took his phenomenal record at the Gabba to 17 wins from just 20 outings.

Black Magic Opal an a track record 25.11 for 450 metres at Geelong in 2013 and on the same day, Just Proper ran 17.73 to break the 312-metre track record at Darwin.

Queensland stayer Miss Brook took out the 2006 Sir John Dillon Memorial Trophy final at Sandown Park by eight lengths for trainer Paul Felgate. Miss Brook downed Mid City Mandy and Rocky (both of whom had been finalists in the same event the previous year, running fourth and third respectively).

, trained by Darren McDonald, won the 2007 Geelong Cup by three-quarters of a length from , running a fast 25.34 for the 457-metre trip and collecting $40,000 for .

Star Tasmanian sprinter Top Shiraz took out the 1999 Devonport Cup final, scoring by almost four lengths from Proper Lass, running a sizzling 25.54 to set a new race record.

Jan's Issue was the somewhat surprise winner of the 1972 Sydney Cup, run over 790 yards at Wentworth Park. Jan's Issue defeated the consistent Osti Too by almost two lengths with former topline Victorian sprinter turned boom stayer Cabernet in third place.

South Australian raider Coulta Bandit defeated Karalinga by nearly three lengths to annex the 2000 Cup, run over 530 metres. Coulta Bandit returned the following year and became the first and only greyhound (to the present) to win back-to-back Canberra Cups.

So Seductive broke Total Denial's eight and a half-year-old 715 metres track record at Sandown Park in 2010, running 41.70 to clip 10/100ths, or the equivalent of a length and a half off the previous time standard.
