Local champion Scull Murphy gave Victorian speedster a severe thrashing in the 2009 Interstate , run over 515 metres at Angle Park, downing him by just over six lengths. Scull Murphy had run second behind the smart in the same event in 2008.

Paw Licking set a new time of 23.74 for 420 metres at in 2013, slicing 20/100ths off the previous record, held by Roman's Know.

Dark Midori defeated Hunting Gold by three-quarters of a length with National Asset a well beaten third in the final of the 1989 Edments Trophy, run over 600 metres at Olympic Park.

Run The Line downed Zini's Jet and Tyler Man in the 405-metre Mandurah Birthday Cup in 2009, covering the trip in a slow 22.99 to earn $20,000 for trainer Linda Britton.

The Maribyrnong speed coursing track had its official opening, in 1933.

Fine Linen scored his sixth successive victory, in a top-grade NJC Stake at Newcastle in 1953. The six wins on end were all since Fine Linen had resumed after breaking down in the shoulder in the Spring Handicap at Newcastle the previous October. Owned and trained in Queensland, Fine Linen was recognised as one of the best sprinters racing of the Tweed River.

Victorian stayer Bubble's Moss won the inaugural All Stars Invitation event run over 731 metres at Angle Park, in 1974. Bubble's Moss defeated local hero Ricca Donna with the previously undefeated Allocate third and NSW champion Miss High Lo only fifth.

Brilliant NSW puppy Montana Jet scored a first-up victory off 1/10 behind in a handicap over 540 yards at , in 1958. Montana Jet scored by seven lengths. The Melbourne Cup runner-up was being set for the Hobart Thousand.

The 2001 Interstate Challenge Cup was raised to Group 3 status and won by Victorian super-sprinter who defeated Dutchy's Angel by just over six lengths in a new track record time of 29.04 for the 515 metres at Angle Park.

Stoner Bale recorded 29.92, the second-fastest run ever over 520 metres at Cranbourne, in taking out the 2009 Cranbourne Cup by three and a half lengths over with Vintage Octane third.

Osti's Joker won the 2000 West End Draught Distance Championship at Angle Park, downing Gemtrea Gypsy by just half a length with Top Condition third, and earning $12,000 for the win. In the heats the previous week, Osti's Joker had defeated Gemtrea Gypsy by a little over nine lengths.

Classy Victorian stayer High Intensity defeated Flying Brucon by four lengths to take out the 1988 Roy Maidment Memorial Trophy at Sandown Park. His great rival Bold Trease stormed home into third place. High Intensity would return again in 1989 to make it two Maidment Memorial victories in a row, once again defeating his now aged rival Bold Trease (fourth).

defeated Winsome Revenge by almost three lengths to win the 2004 Bulli Gold Plate for trainer Christine Oldfield, running the 472 metres trip in a speedy 26.41 and earning $15,000 for connections.
