Australian Racing Greyhound’s Dimity Maher Named NSW Young Person Of The Year

In a stunning achievement, and one of this 's proudest moments in the sport of greyhound racing; Australian Racing Greyhound's own contributing journalist Dimity Maher was last night named NSW Young Person Of The Year.

The award celebrates and acknowledges the contributions to the NSW greyhound industry of a participant under 30 years of age and a more worthy winner would be difficult to find.

At just 24 years of age, Dimity has been contributing to Australian Racing Greyhound since 2010 and has matured and grown to be one of our industry's most liked and respected journalists.

Having interviewed and filed stories on some of the leading lights, as well as focussing public attention on some of the sports lesser known, but equally interesting participants; last night's award commends Dimity's standing among her peers.

In addition to contributing to Australian Racing Greyhound, this highly talented young lady works as an accountant in her home town of , while studying at the University of New England completing a dual Bachelors degree in Law and Business.

Dimity's love and passion for greyhounds and the people that comprise this great sport is infectious, and was never more evident than last night when she demonstrated class and poise beyond her years in accepting GRNSW Young person of the year.

Dimity immediately acknowledged the help and support of her family, the team at Australian Racing Greyhound, and long time NSW greyhound journo Gerard Guthrie; whose writings Dimity credits as her inspiration to become a journalist.

On behalf of the team here at Australian Racing Greyhound and our thousands of loyal readers, Congratulations Dimity Maher!
