Betezy Confirmed As New Maitland Greyhound Racing Sponsors

After a raft of sponsorship agreements from corporate bookmakers with greyhound clubs, the Maitland Club have now confirmed a signage and sponsorship agreement with Corporate Wagering company, Betezy.

The club is thrilled with the deal which will see significant benefits for participants racing at Maitland.

For the remainder of 2011, beginning Thursday March 3, one trainer from each event held at Maitland will be drawn at random to win a Betezy betting voucher to the value of $100.

The incentive is the brainchild of Betezy CEO Vince McDonald, who started his bookmaking career within the greyhound industry and still harbours great affection for the fastest sport on four legs.

In addition to the betting voucher promotion, Maitland will also promote a trainers’ premiership commencing at their first March meeting.

Points on a five, three and one basis will be awarded to greyhounds that run first, second or third respectively, at Maitland between March and the end of December, with the final points up for grabs at the December 29, 2011 meeting.

The overall winning trainer will take home a $2,000 betting account with the new sponsor.

The partnership with Betezy is a significant achievement for the club which has increased its sponsorship profile considerably in the last 12 months.

NSW GBOTA Executive Officer, Brenton Scott, welcomed Betezy to the Association’s sponsorship mix.

“Betezy have a significant support base in the greyhound industry and clearly want to make racing at Maitland attractive and unique,” said Scott.

“The arrangements in place at Maitland are positive for the club and trainers will no doubt be delighted with the betting voucher promotion.”

Maitland Sponsorship Manager, Fred Robertson, said the sponsorship continued the growth of Maitland.

“We have worked hard to consistently attract new sponsors and to retain current support,” said a proud Robertson.

“Vince McDonald has been dedicated to greyhound racing for a long, long time and the structure of his sponsorship at Maitland is testimony to his desire to ensure participants secure maximum benefit.”

Commenting on the sponsorship arrangements, McDonald said he was very happy to be involved with the NSW GBOTA and its Maitland track.

“From wagering and racing perspectives, Maitland is a leading light and we look forward to helping with its continual growth,” McDonald said.
