Next Friday’s rich Rapidvite Maiden Final appears to be a two dog affair, after both quarter final winners had decisive wins. It was a tale of two different stories though, with Brad Northfield’s Bralyn Riley leading all of the way in 23.06, and Robin Duncan’s Beau We Know showing blistering speed in the middle stages before running 23.36.
Sectional times are usually a good guide, and Bralyn Riley clocked 8.72 whilst Sassy Giselle recorded 8.76 when she led up in Beau We Know’s semi. With the pace being on from the start, the box draw might well decide the outcome.
The most improved dog at Casino must be Sebastian Vale who recorded his third win in a row. This son of the well performed Black Framed, jumped straight to the lead and clocked a personal best time of 23.27. Jake Northfiled puts the polish on this youngster, and all of his three wins have come from the dreaded five box.
Pretty Malaika put in an outstanding effort to win the Casino RSM Club Free For All. She was not the best served at the start in a pretty “hot” field, but showed good field sense to get in and out of runners to hit the lead at the top turn. She ran away to score by 2 /14 lengths in the best time of 22.98. It was her seventh win at the track for trainer Frank Hancock.
Local trainer Chris Supple kept up his good record of late when he won the last two races. King Can Do railed through in the back section to clock 23.33 in a 2 1/2 length win, whilst Pretty Knocka also kept to the rails and held off a determined Tee Boned to win by a neck in 23.79.
Bralyn Sal gave Brad and Lynne Northfield a double when she got clear through the pen before going on to win by 6 3/4 lengths. She was always a short quote, and may have gave her backers a few heart flutters, when she wasn’t the best to begin. She ran the best over the 484 metres – 27.20.
Albert Rose Hi got to the lead down the side before running 23.29 for Trevor Thompson, and Dayseas Turbo lived up to his trial form in winning his maiden in 23.60 at his first official start.
Murwillumbah trainers won the remaining two races with Quick Slick Chick running 27.54 for Darren Crates, and Prineie took out the distance race for Des Gilroy. She ran 35.85 in winning by a mere seven lengths.
Casino race again next Friday afternoon with a full TAB programme.
