Bralyn Stripes Wins Casino’s Don Waldron Anniversary Trophy

Speedy sprinter Bralyn Stripes took out the Casino RSM Club / Don Waldron Trophy with an all of the way win last .

The best beginner of the three greyhounds local trainer Brad Northfield had engaged, his victory with good box manners, and had his opposition “off the bit” with a lap to go. Runner up Kingsbrae Sam, wouldn't go away though, and tried valiantly throughout to eventually go down by a length. The time of 27.31 was the best of the day.

Casino Cup winner Bundanoon returned to the track with a hollow win in the South Casino Pharmacy 3rd and 4th grade stake. She was only second away but took over at the first bend to race away. When the judge called a halt she had won by 8 1/4 lengths in defeating a handy field. She ran 27.36.

Half sisters and Peg Rose Hi kept Trevor Thompson in the limelight with solid victories. Lucky Rose Hi bounded out of the traps to take up the early running, but was quickly joined by She's Gold who railed through. They went together nearly all of the way and it was left to “lucky” to gain the upper hand over the final stages to score by a length in a fast 23.15.

In the race prior, Peg Rose Hi railed through on the home bend to get the prize, after being well place throughout. trains her for Trevor, and it was her sixth career win.

Beryl and aren't far away from the money when they produce their dogs, and Mya Pixie made it two in a row when she led all of the way in the South Casino Butchery stake. She ran 23.25 and scored by 2 1/4 lengths.

also made it two winners in two weeks with the win of Atomic Rumble. He took the lead down the side and won by three lengths clocking 23.52. As with last weeks winner Rumble Zone, Steve trains him for breeder and trainer .

Kid Middy broke a string of second placings when he won the South Casino Newsagency stake Free For All in 23.30 for , while Holly We Know scored a popular win in the last race for Rob and Warren Ensby. She railed through at the top turn to beat a bunching field by 3/4 length in 23.38.

The series continues this Friday with the quater finals, and the sprinters get a chance to strut their stuff in the Westlawn Finance heats.
