The heavyweight of the Country Challenge field, Mountain Of Love not only is arguably the most talented greyhound in the final but the heaviest at just under 37 kilograms.

A four leg trip was penned for “Jack”, as known by his trainer Ruth Matic, with the Showdown final over 520 metres at being the main aim for the South Coast flying machine.

His run to July 12 didn't go to script early when a well beaten fifth in the Goulburn final in December last year. He bided his time running in top grade races at Wentworth Park against the elite of the sport including and Bartrim Bale.

His love for the grass straight at Appin was evidenced by his two dazzling displays in winning the Moss Vale hosted final over 274 metres and the Appin final over 366 metres. Up against track legend , Mountain Of Love showed his versatility with tremendous wins that set tongues wagging.

The holder at Nowra then visited the Pine Bowl again running a quick time and breaking the hearts of his opposition when victorious in the final. That took his record at Nowra to four wins from five starts and booked his ticket for Showdown action.

Feeling right at home on the Wentworth Park circuit, Mountain Of Love is the only greyhound in the field to have broken the magical 30 second barrier there and has been competing against Australia's best, having beaten emerging star Tricode Flojo recently.

Sure to start a warm favourite and be very popular with the satchel swingers, Mountain Of Love is the one they will have to beat and if the giant black dog gets by the first bend unscathed, the rest of the field will be hard pressed to run him down.
