This Saturday night the Group Three RIP John Stollery Christmas Gift will be run and won at Wentworth Park with a juicy $25,000 to winning connections.
Double Twist will start favourite after a most-impressive performance from the same box last week. After chasing down early leader Peter Rocket, she clocked 29.74, easily the best time of the four heats conducted.
With so much early speed in this final, the first turn won't be a place for the faint-heated, with so many races won within the first five seconds.
This highly-anticipated final will jump at 10.00pm EDST.
Trainer Comments: “I was wrapped to win with him the other night and he still has some improvement yet so I'm confident he can do well this week. The box will suit him and I'm just hoping for some luck to see him in it at the finish.”
Trainer Comments: “His providing each-way betting. The box is there and he jumps well so he should be vying for the lead early but will need some luck. He wasn't my best chance in the heats last week but I'm privileged to have made the final.”
Trainer Comments: “He has a good chance from a good box draw and all I'm hoping for is a bit of luck for him early. I was a bit dissapointed he got ran down last week but that was his first run for a while so I know he can improve.”
Trainer Comments: “His at the top of his game at the moment just has to do the same as last week and begin well. His a much better dog when he's on the bunny so hopefully he can get some luck on the night.”
Trainer Comments: “She pulled up fantastic after last Saturday, but I would like to see her not give these types of dogs too much start because it's very hard to come from behind. I can't fault her performances of late but she will need some luck from the draw.”
Trainer Comments (Kennel Rep Tammy Collins): “He needs a lot of luck from the box as the field is very good and a few of them have more experience, but we're keeping our fingers crossed and hope for the best.”
Trainer Comments: “It's a terrific field with a lot of talent in it. My dog will handle box 8 and hopefully he can run a mighty race, but I'm just really happy to be in the final. Double Twist is the dog to beat if she gets a clear run.”
