Mangafas To Stay On As GBOTA Supremo
Mr Mangafas, a Board Member since 1995, was first elected to the Association's highest post in 2000. His latest appointment applies until May 31, 2010.
Geoff Rose was also returned as Deputy Chairman while Bryan Young was elected as Treasurer. All three senior Office Bearers were ultimately elected unopposed.
Mr Mangafas and Mr Rose are the Board's longest serving members while Mr Young is a first term Director. Mr Young brings, however, a vast understanding of the Greyhound Industry and exceptional commercial skills to the Treasurer's post.
Mr Young holds a Master's degree in Business Administration and served with the Westpac Bank in senior accounting roles for 26 years.
The Association's Executive comprises Messrs. Mangafas, Rose, Young plus Jenny Green and Bill Schwencke.
Mr Mangafas said, this week, that he was delighted to again lead the Association at a particularly exciting time.
“The formation of the single entity at Bulli, the reform that is being considered at Wentworth Park and the roll of out Race Field legislation are great opportunities for the Industry,” said Mr Mangafas.
“I believe the NSW GBOTA Board of Directors has a great blend of Industry knowledge, commercial skills and participant awareness and this well ensure an ongoing and vital Industry contribution.”
