Marbill’s Muddy Taree Summer Cup Win

Consistent rain on Saturday afternoon didn't dampen the enthusiasm nor the standard of greyhound racing at Taree's Kanangra Drive track with some very close finishes in the 10 event program.

Despite the rain, the track presented itself in good condition with local trainers having success, particularly Lansdowne's , who won three races with Love of Janet, Janet Faye and Mr Park.

These young dogs are all from the same litter, sired by Over Flo from Janet's Park and their performances so far have given Shepherd valuable points towards the trainer of the year award.

Love of Janet blew the rivals away to score by a massive 11 lengths in the Education Stakes, a mixed grade over 314 metres. Love of Janet lived up to its starting price of $2 favourite, running 18.65 to beat Kazza's Rose and Hot Rufus.

Janet Faye had a quarter of a length to spare on the line over ($7) in the Blue Paws Stakes fifth grade over 392 metres. The winner paid $3.90 and ran 23.56, with Great Grape Ape third.

Mr Park ($3.10) was too strong for its rivals in winning the Mid Coast Eggs Stakes fifth grade over 392 metres in 23.31. Three lengths away in second was Uno Diamond ($3.90) and You Bet ($2.70).

Lansdowne's Geoff Wall with Rema's Fella and 's also had wins with Croker also winning a free service to Cool Mat donated by Gain Park and connections.

Box one was used to the advantage of Rema's Fella, winner of the Renzo Park Maiden Stakes over 392 metres.

Rema's Fella ($3.90) covered the distance in 23.40 to beat Big Cool Mulwee ($2.25) and Master Jordyn ($2).

Starting at $3.90, Blazing Enforcer ran 23.46 in beating Tallowood Gem and Elite Thomas.

Feature race of the afternoon, the Local Bookmaker Summer Cup was won by Marbill for the Windale trainer .

Starting from the one box over the 392 metres Marbill ran strongly to win in a close finish by three quarters of a length from So Slow (Craig Francis, Nabiac) with (, Nabiac) finishing a further 1.25 lengths third.

The Supporters Club Battlers Stake, for fifth grade dogs who have not won a race in the last six starts nor placed in the last three, was won by for Bob Sargent of Taree with Richard Patterson's Tycoon Magic and Miss Wildfire filling the placings.

However, Turner had better success with winning the first race from Gable Choice (Helen Hanson) and Miss Park (Peter Shepherd).
