Miss Elly Mint….3 Starts….13 Days….3 Track Records

In a performance that is unrivalled in modern greyhound racing, Australia's TAB tracks consecutive win record holder, last night won her 19th race from her last 20 starts, but more significantly set her third consecutive in as many starts.

In the space of 13 days, Miss Elly Mint won a 400m race at The Gardens in a heat of the Novacastrian, setting a new Gardens Track Record of 23.46, surpassing the old mark by .08 second.

One week later Miss Elly Mint blew them away in the Novacastrian final, winning by 8 lengths unchallenged, and break her own Gardens Track Record by a further .01 second, running 23.45.

New South Wales greyhound racings fans didn't have to wait long to see “Little Miss Record” step out again.

Racing last night at , at just her third run from a short injury enforced let-up, when she injured a shoulder going for win number 17 in a row; Miss Elly Mint used all her explosive box speed to lead the depleted 4/5th grade 400m race, running 10.59 for the first section.

From there it was just a procession and Miss Elly Mint ran hard to the line, finishing in 12.07 for a 6.5 length win, running a race time of 22.66.

Miss Elly Mint had just run her third track record in as many starts and had smashed Lochinvar Prada's previous Gosford 400m Track Record of 22.88 by more than 3 lengths.

The Robert Smith trained and owned white and blue brindle daughter of Elite State ~ Indigo Mint has now managed an enviable career record of 41 wins from 62 starts with 11 minor placings. That career has earnt her the record for the longest consecutive winning streak on TAB tracks, winning 16 races in a row; and has now spawned 3 track records.

Trainer Robert Smith has done an exceptionally good job of preparing and placing the Hunter Valley flyer and has given her the perfect lead up to the 3 week long $150,000 to the winner, 2009 , which starts this Saturday night at .

With Miss Elly Mint's confidence at unprecedented levels, she has drawn the 6 box in the 6th heat of the Golden Easter Egg, against handy Victorian chaser , dual 1 winner , speedy Nimbastic and recent dominant Wentworth Park winner Bells Pace.

Drawing what is arguably one of the hardest Golden Easter Egg heats seen in recent times, Miss Elly Mint will have an enormous task of offsetting her awkward draw and avoiding early speed dogs Nimbastic and Bells Pace, who are both drawn inside her.

It will take nothing short of an extraordinary run to collect win number 20 from her last 21 starts in this race, but at 9:12pm at Wentworth Park, you'll see a tiny white and blue bitch front up behind the 520m boxes who is nothing short of extraordinary herself.

She's simply the best we've seen for a long, long time.
