O’Grady Out For 3 Months Over Positive Swab

The rash of Eastern States greyhounds returning positive swabs to Caffeine metabolites continued in NSW yesterday when Mavis O’Grday was suspended for 3 months.

O’Grady’s greyhound Tommy Power returned a positive swab after its second placing at Wentworth Park back on the 3rd November 2008 in a 520m 5th grade race.

GHRRA Stewards yesterday concluded an Inquiry into the positive finding of Theobromine, Theopohylline and Paraxanthine in the urine sample taken from Tommy Power when it competed at Wentworth Park on 3 November, 2008.

Mavis O’Grady was charged with a breach of Rule 83(2)(a) in that she failed to present Tommy Power for racing, drug free.

Stewards suspended Mavis O’Grady for 3 months for her breach of Rule 83(2)(a).

Tommy Power was also disqualified from the event.
