Percy Allan Still In Charge Of New South Wales Greyhound Racing
The new Board of Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) announced today that it had re-appointed Professor Percy Allan AM to the position of Chairman.
Professor Allan was appointed to the position of Chairman following an extensive selection and interviewing process which involved a number of outstanding candidates.
Professor Allan is a Visiting Professor at Macquarie University's Graduate School of Management and an Adjunct Professor in Public Policy at the School of Business and Government, University of Canberra.
He is Principal of Percy Allan and Associates Pty Ltd, a public policy, finance and management advisory group and Chairman of Constellation Capital Management Ltd, an Australian equities wholesale funds manager.
He was with the NSW Treasury for 18 years, nine of them as Secretary of the Department and Chairman of the NSW Treasury Corporation. He was also Chair of the NSW Premier's Council on the Cost & Quality of Government, which reviewed the performance of government departments, from 1999-2007.
Professor Allan is also a Director of NSW Racing Pty Ltd.
In 1996, Professor Allan was awarded an Order of Australia for his contribution to public sector reform.
Professor Allan has a proven track record as he has been the GRNSW Chairman since its inception.
In accepting the appointment Professor Allan thanked the Board for their vote of confidence.
“I look forward to leading the Board through this challenging time with the merging of the GHRRA into our business and coping with any fallout from the global financial crisis,” Professor Allan said.
The Board of GRNSW looks forward to working with Professor Allan for the betterment of the industry.
