Queenslander Tony Brett Targets The Gardens Greyhounds Today
Champion Queensland trainer Tony Brett will make a rare visit to The Gardens today, when he boxes Chevez in race three, the Greyhoundsproductdirect.com.au Stake.
Chevez, which has an imposing record of 20 starts for eight wins and eight minor placings, is preparing for the $15,000 to the winner Woy Woy Poultry St Leger series which starts next week
Today's assignment will be a good test for the son of Hallucinate and Drunken Treasure, taking on proven Wentworth Park performer, No Doubt and the strong Cypress Miss, which has a best time of 29.83 around The Gardens.
Next Wednesday night Chevez has drawn box three in heat three of the Woy Woy Poultry St Leger, with Ken Cheetham's star, Ne Divide in box two and Jason Mackay's promising galloper Glen Abbey Man in box eight.
The best bet of today's meeting at The Gardens, according to the form analyst, is Ibrox Laura in race two, the Multicam System Stake over 515 metres, saying;
“IBROX LAURA (1), above average pup that came through the big maiden series here recently, led throughout running fast time last start, clearly the one to beat.”
While the best value of the day is in the last event, the Get To The Diggers Stake, over the short course 400 metre trip.
“VEE MANS GIRL (3) is much much better than her recent form would suggest, drops in class sharply, risky at box rise but whistles after balancing up, one of the hardest to beat” Stated the comment in the Wrapper
Today's bumper program at The Gardens will be seen live on Skyracing1 and you can bet live on the meeting at Sportsbet or Iasbet, with the first race of the card scheduled to kick off at 3.47pm AEDT.
