Robert Andrews Trains Casino Twilight Treble

Local trainer Robert Andrews continued his weekly “attack” on the Casino program with a winning treble last Friday.

Leading the assault was track specialist Beaver Fever who recorded his 22nd win on the grass surface, in taking out the Casino RSM Club Free For All.

Speedy customer led them up, but Bever Fever railed through down the back and the race was all over. He raced clear to win by three lengths, and recorded the best time of the day – 23.10.

In the preceding race the heavily supported navigated his way to the lead as they went to the top turn. He also finished full of running to win by 3 3/4 lengths in 27.71. To top off the day, Smokes Liftin' showed good railing ability early, and held of the fast finishing to win by 1 1/2 lengths. He ran 27.84 in recording his first victory over the 484 metre journey.

There was an obvious quinella in the Shane Newstead Automotive maiden, when beat Shez Tipsy. Omen punters received odds of nearly 10/1 about the pairing, with the winner looking very strong in winning by 2 3/4 lengths. Shez Tipsy did come from a long way back early, and may be one to follow over a longer trip.

The best time over the 484 metres went to Brad Northfield's handy performer . He stepped out from box one, and the further they went, the more he increased his lead. On the wire he won by 10 1/2 lengths and clocked 27.26.

looked perfectly placed in the Charcoal Inn distance race, and she out plugged her rivals to score a comfortable one length win in 35.92. The trained stayer was favouite after already having won two distance races here, and she didn't let her backers down.

Trevor Thomson's Baz Rose Hi benefitted from the experience of his first start, and ran 27.93 at his second run to win the Mc Donald's Phamacy maiden, whilst came out running and led all of the way in a 5th grade for Bob Merillo. She ran 23.21 and hung on tenaciously to get in by a half length.

was another to lead throughout when she ran 23.32 for Peter Simpson in the Westlawn Finance maiden, and crashed across from box eight before balacing up and racing away with the Casino Rural Traders stake. He ran 23.44.

The ”lucky last” was won by Maurie Mc Cardle's Sleek Silhouette who came home late along the rails to grab the prize. She ran 23.15 in scoring by 1 3/4 lengths.

Casino continues to get mammoth nominations so an attractive card is assured for next Friday afternoon.
