Rockstar Image Takes Another Step Toward Greatness
Despite the wet weather, a good crowd was in attendance to witness some exciting racing last Tuesday night.
The run of the night was handed in by Rockstar Image in the Slattery Auctions 4/5th Grade over 515m.
After being second & third early, Rockstar Image recorded a very quick 12.64 run home time, on the way to a 13½ len victory in a flying 29.73. By Big Daddy Cool ex Twisted Angel this Nicholas Healey owned & trained speedster has now had sixteen starts for eleven wins two seconds & one third.
He has already had two city runs without winning, but judging by Tuesday night's effort, one would expect wins at Wentworth Park should be mere formality.
Having her first official race start the aptly named Laura's A Star recorded a good win in the opening race a maiden over 400m. Named in memory of their late daughter Laura, this Cathy Dance owned, Bill Dance trained Primo Uno bitch showed good early pace on the way to a 6¾ len win in 23.51 secs.
En Chlais made it back to back Gosford wins by taking out the Blue Paws Mixed Final over 400m in 23.31. Showing the benefit of last weeks look at the track, this Brett Lee ex Stylish Scene bitch has now two wins, two seconds & a third from her only five starts. Owned & trained by The Ferguson Family, she certainly looks to have her fair share of ability.
Another greyhound to impress on the night was the John Head trained Smash Repair who led throughout to win a 515m 5th Grade event in 30.20. By Collision ex Honey Combe, this blue dog has only faced the starter on four occasions for three wins & a second & with his good early pace is one to follow.
Distance racing also returned to Gosford on Tuesday & Abbi Taylah trained by Rikky Moncrieff led throughout to score from Like a Star who ran on from a long way back finishing second just in front of Lee Kate.
Regular Gosford visitor Peter Lagogiane finally had a smile back on his face following the win of Teddy Flynn in race two. Pete has been having one of those very frustrating runs lately & it was good to see the smile return.
