Talented Youngsters On Show At Dapto

Eight heats of the Group Three Dean Industrial Maiden Series over 520m will kick off this Thursday night at Dapto, with a juicy $25,000 up for grabs to the final winner.

Heat One:

Zipping Saxton (4) comes into this event with a blistering 29.41 performance trial at , followed by a respectable 30.25 performance trial at Dapto last week. Trained by master mentor , this beautifully bred son of Spring Gun and is undoubtedly the one to beat.

Whittaker (2) also comes into this race with outstanding performance trial form, having recorded a flying 26.34 over the 472m at Bulli last week. The trained son of Milldean Panther and Mrs Trickett's will attract a few eyes from punters, making his debut over the 520m distance. Get Out Claws (3) has been consistent at the track and finished second last week in 30.51, before backing up with a Nowra third on Monday.

Heat Two:

Talented youngster Bronco Prance (8) makes his debut in this heat for trainer Peter Rodgers and has excellent trial form, with a fast 29.87 performance at earlier this month and a sub 23 effort at a month prior, clocking 22.95. Despite being drawn out wide, the daughter of Bit Chili and Good Purchase has genuine early pace to cross and lead the field.

In form trainer Steve White has a great chance in this heat with Paua Explosion (7), who trialled very well at Nowra over 365 (20.71) back in May and the only question is the step up in distance, however she would have been well schooled at the track. Cherokee Fiddle recorded a speedy time of 30.10 at the track last month and is one of the genuine chances from an ideal box draw. The Ben Mccauley trained chaser has been very consistent, placed four times from six starts and will go close to cracking his maiden in this event.

Heat Three:

Paua To Change (6) gets a chance to redeem herself after an unplaced run on debut at Bulli back in June after producing two solid trials at Goulburn coming into that race. Despite the awkward box draw, the Steve White trained daughter of Head Bound and Paua To Erupt is drawn inside a slow beginner and should get room to move early on.

Zipping Jacob (7) comes off the back of some very consistent performances in the Laurie Healion Memorial Maiden at the Gardens over the past few weeks and despite his lack of early pace, should be primed for a strong finish. Topper Road (8) debuts for trainer Anthony from a suitable wide draw and recorded a speedy 26.41 in his only performance trial at Bulli last week. The son of has good early pace and should use the box to perfection.

Heat Four:

Paua To Escape (4) is another smart greyhound from the Head Bound – Paua To Erupt litter and performance trialled at the track two weeks ago in 30.52. The Steve White trained chaser will need to overcome a poor box draw with a good start. Cleaning Money (2) was beaten convincingly in his only performance trial earlier this month at Wentworth Park, however look for solid improvement from the son of El Grand Senor and Clay Model, who should go well from an inside draw. It Happened (7) has good trial form on the board for trainer Luke Azzopardi, but will need to improve on the clock to be competitive in this affair.

Heat Five:

Julie Fletcher has another strong chance in this heat with the beautifully bred Martin Clegg (7), who comes off a 25.86 performance trial at Goulburn and looks certain to go well in this affair. The son of and Meredith Grey only needs to cross and should record good time. Kiddie Cutts (1) has come up with the coveted red rug and notched up a solid time at Wentworth Park back in June, clocking 30.24 over the 520m. Colt Rocket (2) missed the jump and got smashed on debut during the Laurie Healion Maiden series at the Gardens; however look for the Amy Bennett trained greyhound to take full advantage of a suitable box draw.

Heat Six:

Trainer Melinda Finn debuts Winsome Prince (4) after a fast 30.12 performance trial last week and this promising sprinter is the one to beat in this race despite an awkward middle draw. The son of Barcia Bale and Winsome Shiraz should carve out smart time if he gets to the lead early on.

Ballistic Tip (3) has been impressive in both his performance trials over the short distances and will be up with the frontrunners early on. Bedlam Bridge (2) has been consistent, despite being winless after sixteen starts; however look for him to be flying home at the finish.

Heat Seven:

Mark Gatt debuts Jett Setter (5), who was impressive in clocking 30.03 last week in his only performance trial and will only need to overcome a poor box draw to be a threat in this heat. Dragon Emgrand (2) recorded a solid time of 31.15 over the 535m at Richmond back in June and will be another one to watch out of the Luke Azzopardi kennel. Ella Has Class (3) produced a solid 30.30 performance in a trial last week at The Gardens and showed decent pace in the early stages to warrant respect.

Heat Eight:

Master Shot (8) blew his rivals away in both performance trials at Bathurst, carving out a brilliant time of 25.31. The beautifully bred son of Brett Lee and Midnight Movie will be prepared to perfection by trainer Dave Pringle and should get a nice cart across from the wide draw. Encapsulate (1) is another promising youngster from the Mark Gatt kennel and despite only recording a time of 30.66, is drawn perfectly on the inside to produce a good performance. Unbroken (2) is also drawn well close to the rails and can improve on his trial form. The regally bred son of Brett Lee and Stylish Scene will make his race debut for trainer Majella Ferguson and should run a cheeky race.

The first four placegetters of each heat will move through to next week's semi finals, with heat one set to jump at 7.29pm.
