Brilliant youngster Shoulders will return to Dapto for the first time since March, after clocking a near-record 29.49 at just his second career start for trainer Anthony Azzopardi. Last week’s Group Two Black Top runner up Push It will exit from box eight and has been ultra-consistent of late with some impressive performances at Wentworth Park and The Gardens. Stilton Blue is a Dapto specialist; with a perfect race record at the track of two wins from two starts, including a flying personal best of 29.60. Despite the poor box six draw, the son of Where’s Pedro and She’s A Player can challenge this field with a clear run and cement a spot in next week’s final.
Queensland trainer Tony Brett returns to Dapto with Exhibitionist, who has recorded a fast personal best of 29.71 over the 520m distance and comes into this race with solid form at Albion Park.
Lacey Lois, My Awesome Opal, Velvet Flame and Woods will all start the race as big outsiders and will need plenty of luck to win the race.
The winner of this prelude will collect $5,000 for their efforts, but more importantly secure a spot in next week’s illustrious $75,000 Group One Megastar Final.
