ZIPPING Lilly scored the biggest victory of her career on Saturday night, taking out the Group 3 Ladies Bracelet (520m) at Wentworth Park.
Starting from box seven, the black bitch was beaten for speed in the early stages by frontrunners Too Many Daddys (box two) and Good Odds Angel (box three), with the latter claiming the lead in the run through the first run.
Meanwhile, Zipping Lilly was able to work her way into third spot behind the leading pair, with the three female sprinters charging clear of the remainder of the field, headed by Tap Out Rose (box eight).
Off the back and Too Many Daddys had railed underneath the leader to take control of the race, but Zipping Lilly was camped right on her heels, peeling off the fence around the home turn and making her move down the centre of the track.
Half way down the straight and the two bitches were going stride for stride, with Zipping Lilly finishing too powerfully, defeating Too Many Daddys by a head on the line in 30.08.
Trained by Jason Mackay, the win gave Zipping Lilly her fifth career win at start 15, with the $25,000 winner’s cheque taking the daughter of Don’t Knocka Him and Tricky Gypsy’s career earnings to above $40,000.
