Brett’s dynamic duo shine in Group 1 Albion Park Gold Cup heats

TOP Queensland trainer had a terrific time at on Thursday night, qualifying two runners through to next week's final over 710-metres including Tuavasa Shek ($3.20) which clocked a flying 41.73 in heat two.

Exiting from box one, the son of Heston Bale and Thermal Image quickly took the lead heading towards the first turn and led throughout, scoring by an impressive six lengths at the finish.

Favourite runner Lady Toy ($2.50) stuck with the winner most of the way, however faded at the finish and ran fourth. Hougenie held on for second and Robert Britton's Cosmic Vee Bee made up ground to finish third.

Tuavasak Shek has now won three straight over the 710-metre journey at Albion Park and will head into next week's $75,000 final as the top chance after drawing the inside alley once again.

In the first heat, punters threw their support behind Dzeko ($2.10) from box one and weren't disappointed after the Samuel Dart-trained chaser produced a gutsy performance, saluting by two and a quarter lengths. The daughter of and Rematch notched up her 10th career win, recording a speedy personal best of 42.00.

The 25kg lightweight got away well from the inside alley and took the lead around the first-turn. After being challenged in the back straight by Cyndie's Magic, Dzeko showed great stamina to regain the lead and career away up the straight.

Tony Brett's Luna Jinx produced a effort taking lengths off the leader to finish second and Zipping Maggie finished a further length away in third.
