Six Month Disqualification For Answering Machine Abuse In Queensland

On May 16th 2011 conducted an into an abusive phone message left on the telephone answering machine of an employee of Limited on Wednesday May 11 2011.

Evidence was taken from licensed trainer Bruce McNamara.

Upon the evidence presented before the stewards at the inquiry, stewards charged licensed trainer Bruce McNamara with one (1) charge of breaching Rule 86 (g) which reads as follows:

A person shall be guilty of an offence if the person abuses any official of the Controlling Body

The specifics of this charge were:
That on May 11 2011 you Bruce McNamara being a licensed greyhound trainer verbally abused one Brett Rail who is an official employed by the Racing Control Body

Mr McNamara pled guilty to the charge. Stewards also took into account certain personal circumstances put forward by Mr McNamara. Mr McNamara stated that his behaviour was unacceptable and that he was truly remorseful for his actions.

Mr McNamara had his trainer's license disqualified for a period of six months with three months of this disqualification to be suspended for a period of 12 months on the proviso that he be of good behaviour for that period.

Mr McNamara was advised of his appeal rights
