Size Can Matter Set To Prove His Class

Queensland contender Size Can Matter will set out to prove his class when he takes on a star-studded Best Eight field at on Thursday night.

The Group One-winner will jump from box five in the Winning Edge 520m (race eight) as the only greyhound to have broken 30 seconds in the field.

However, the race won't be a walk in the park for the Jack Irwin-trained performer, with Bogie Ace from box one, Eskimo Dancer in box three, Brisbane Greyhound of the Year Black Ruler in box four, Watts Wise in box seven and Lucky Alive in box eight.

Bogie Ace has continued to improve each week, with a record at Albion Park over 520m of 17 top three finishes from 19 starts.

Eskimo Dancer comes off the back of a very impressive win last Thursday night in a best time of 30.16 from the same box three.

Fellow -trained kennel-mate Black Ruler will be looking for a freshen up dropping back in distance to 520m after placing second in his second 710m start.

Lee Wylie-trained dog Watts Wise will also be one to watch in this race having shown promising form in the past weeks, including a last start win in 30.09.

Lucky Alive is another not to leave out of the exotics with the ability to cause an upset, and in his second start back on the track after a short stint in Sydney.

Another well-matched field will line up in race five for the fourth grade Give Me Five at Stud over 520m.

After Monday night's performance from box eight in 29.96, Kathy's Recall is sure to be short-priced.

However, early speed is expected from her outside with coming off the back of a solid win last week, and Intelligence, who is on track for his fourth straight win.

A threat in this race will also come from box eight's Sangio King who boasts a best time of 30.00 seconds, which he achieved two weeks ago, and a perfect record of two starts for two wins wearing the pink.

Race Six of the night, the Hawkins Media Solutions 520m will see Fire Of London looking to regain form after a disappointing fourth last Monday behind Intelligence.

Jumping from box four, the Percy Camden Bermingham-trained black dog will need to jump well with (box five), (box six) and Phantom Ben (box eight) on his outside certain to pounce on any hesitations.

Sky Larking performed well last Thursday night over 520m from box four, winning the race in a smart time of 30.21.
