Thursday’s Albion Park Meeting Set For Quick Times

Thursday night’s race card at Albion Park is expected to produce some blistering times with a barrage of top quality fields on the program.

The Give Me Five at Stud 520m Best Eight (Race Five) will feature a star-studded line up including Albion Park history-maker Black Monty, in-form performer Eskimo Dancer, Darryl Trembath’s Manhattan, and the very quick Bogie Blue.

The return of the Thomas Noble-trained Black Monty on Monday night was not an impressive run, however, his performance at recent trails is sure to keep the price short for this race where he will jump from box seven.

Eskimo Dancer will be looking to step up in class this race after showing promising improvement in his past two starts including his best performance win over Hay Carter last week.

Jumping from box three, Eskimo Dancer will need to start well with Darryl Trambath’s Manhattan (box two), who returns to the 520m start after a solid 600m second placing behind Texas Ranger.

A major threat in the race will come from Bogie Blue in box six, who lines up for his fifth straight win after defeating some of Brisbane’s fastest including Track Hammer and Intrepid Force.

Special Phantom in box eight is also one not to leave out of the mix boasting eight wins over the distance at Albion Park.

The thrilling race will be preceded with a Best Eight over 710m (Race Four).

Brisbane Greyhound of the Year Black Ruler will be looking to edge closer to the 10-straight win record set by Token Jet at Albion Park in 2006.

If he wins, Black Ruler will take his current streak to eight wins, and only his second win over 710m.

Box Two will be a great advantage for the keen chasing dog, and will look to lead ahead of Smart Choice in box seven.

One to keep a close eye on in this race is John Dart’s Rulla Ant, who will have his first start at Albion Park after posting some quick times at Cannington in Western Australia.

Race Nine of the night, the Brandons Electrical 600m, will be another hotly contested battle with an open field chasing the $4,400 in prize money.

The Malcolm Dawson-trained Surfin Silence will be trying to make it two starts for two wins after crossing the line first on Brisbane Cup night in December clocking in at 35.45.

Jumping from box seven, he will find most of his competition from box one with Dooley’s Angel coming off the back of an impressive Monday night win in 35.45 also.

Box three’s Mush Mush will also be one to keep an eye on as he looks for his first win of five starts over 600m, as well as Intrepid Force with a descent best time of 35.55.
