Industry Workshops To Help Shape The Future Of Greyhound Racing In South Australia

Greyhound Racing SA () will run a series of industry workshops in April to help shape the future of greyhound racing in South Australia.

The workshops are designed to provide an opportunity for industry participants including owners, trainers, breeders and punters to voice their opinion on key issues.

GRSA Chief Executive Officer Mr said the future health of greyhound racing in this state relies upon listening and responding to the views of the people at the heart of the industry.

“Everyone in the industry has their own perspective and views on key issues and we're hoping for a robust and respectful debate during each workshop,” Matt said.

“Feedback collected will be used to assist with the future decision making processes of the GRSA Board.

“Greyhound racing has a great opportunity to strengthen its position as the number two racing code in South Australia. This depends upon making sure the right decisions are made now and that we plan for the future.”

Topics likely to be discussed will include the SA tracks and facilities strategy, , attracting and retaining participants and animal welfare in addition to matters related directly to racing.

Four workshops are planned with 20 – 25 people attending each workshop.

The workshops will be run in Chasers Restaurant at on April 8 (1pm – 5pm and 6pm -10pm), April 9 (10am – 2pm) and April 11 (1pm – 5pm).

Industry members or participants interested in attending a workshop are being asked to register through the GRSA website – www.grsa.com.au

Completed registration forms must be returned no later than close of business, March 18.
