Soccer Star On Target To Give Away Free Bets At Sandown

Soccer superstar has set his sights on the Shootout at Park on Thursday 12 November.

Thompson, the marquee player for A-League powerhouse Melbourne Victory, was recently a Greyhound ambassador along with Australian star and Australian Diamonds netballer Bianca Chatfield.

As well as being available to sign autographs and pose for photographs, Thompson will star in an on course promotion where 10 lucky patrons will get to test their own soccer Shootout skills with four $1000 bets on the 3 Macro Meats Shootout up for grabs.

The Macro Meats Shootout brings together four of Australia's fastest greyhounds in a $20,000 winner-takes-all test of pure speed. The current Sandown Park record was set in the 2005 Shootout when Bond scorched around the Lightwood Road 515m circuit in a stunning 29.38 seconds.

The final Solo Melbourne Cup Prelude series completes an outstanding night of greyhound racing, with the best greyhounds in the country making their final pitch for a berth in the heats of Australia's richest and most prestigious greyhound race, the $250,000 Group 1 Solo Melbourne Cup (Thursday 19 November, final on Thursday 26 November).

Admission to all race meeting throughout the Superdogs Series is just $5 for adults, with children under 16 FREE when accompanied by an adult.
