Belena Haze Facest Toughest Challenge Yet At Ballarat

will embark on her toughest race assignment when she contests heat three of the Ballarat Greyhound Club Trophy at Morshead Park.

Belena Haze will jump from Box 8 in her heat, which will be one of five heats on the twelve race program.

Winners and fastest placed second greyhounds from the heats will advance to the final to be run over 450 metres next Wednesday night.

Trained at Snake Valley by , Belena Haze has only had three race starts for two impressive wins at the track and distance.

In those races she was quick out of the boxes and ran good sectional splits. At her only other race she received a check in running which ruined her chances in that race.

“She is only a young dog but she has loads of ability.” Breen said.

“She is quick out of the boxes. If she can get to the lead she will be hard to run down.”

Breen believes that Belena Haze also has the ability to go on from here.

“She is a very handy dog who is more than capable of winning city class races.”

Hardest for Belena Haze to overcome will be from Box 1, and from Box 2.

Captain Hastings has drawn to be up with the leaders throughout the race and has a good record at the track, with two wins and four minor placing's from his eight starts here.

Dark History's form has been a bit inconsistent of late, but only needs to get back to the form which saw him string together consecutive wins at the track in October to be a chance in an open race.

Favored runners in other heats are:

Heat 1 – is a promising type but this will be his first start at the track and distance. His form line of five wins and five minor placing's from ten race starts suggests he will be hard to catch if he is able to lead from the boxes.

Heat 2 – from the kennel is coming back in grade and should be very hard to beat, although he has drawn awkwardly in Box 4.

Heat 4 – has the chance to add to his race winning record if he is able to step out of the boxes.

Heat 5 – which is also from the Steve Collins kennel should go well if she can lead them out of the boxes.
